Isn't it interesting, how God chose Paul who was highly educated, studied under Gamaliel, a Pharisee of Pharisees to be the apostle to the gentiles, who the Jews thought of as dogs. And He gave Peter, a humble fisherman to be apostle to the Jews. God's ways are not our ways, He is amazing!! Praise be to God.

I really needed to hear this teaching as I am struggling with different scriptures of the Bible. Pastor it’s seems every time I need answers to questions God ALWAYS answers me and most times you are the one God leads me to for greater revelation,understanding and wisdom. Everyone I speak to regarding this truth, they refuse to believe. Man's pride at its finest for them to think THEY chose God. We are His CREATION. lol...many forget our place in the presence of God! Thank you, Pastor, for preaching our Lord's great truths!

I am glad I heard Andy teach the marriage analogy. I had the same thought come to mind many times when considering this topic. My wife chose me and God chose me. But I also chose them. In both cases I married upward.

Thank you pastor, fantastic teaching and I have to rethink the last part about the gift of faith versus our responsibility to trust the Lord. I always thought Gal 5:22 taught the fruits of the Spirit, one of these being faith. So my understanding was faith is a fruit, hence a gift attained by hearing the gospel. Blessings to you and your church and family.

30:58- a question my husband had asked our previous pastor but he didn’t know and we just moved on from it but I’m starting to SEE so much recently )only ALL glory to God alone PTL!) and the Holy Spirit is definitely pouring out onto a remnant 🙌🏻 and all of these discussions going on in the grace community about resting and God truly works His best in and through us for His glory when we are resting in Christ...& He did say that there would be another outpouring of His Spirit in the last days (I don’t know if this is part of it or if it’s a future outpouring of his Holy Spirit onto the tribulation saints as they will absolutely need THAT kind of power from on high like the book of Acts 🔥) and He also said that there would be a famine of His word in the end times and I don’t like to say it but I’m seeing a huge famine in churches ...sadly.. but I also see the beautiful diamonds 💎 and the oasis of water 💦 refreshing us all (and feeding us as we have just a little strength and have NOT denied His name..& everything He/Grace + gospel stands for...faith + nothing = eternal salvation) from a very very few people and you are one of the select few good pastors/ teachers/ left in our time and I praise the Lord for you! 🙌🏻 Back to the question of Jacob I love but Esau hated... Could God have meant that He loved Jacob b/c HIS/Gods seed Jesus would come from the line of Jacob and he can’t “hate” but he hated Esau because it spit on the BLOOD of Jesus and the finished work on the cross for our salvation and sanctification and glorification and by Christ’s once for ALL sin offering and payment and propitiation and FULL atonement and our justification and how MUCH GOD LOVES US (WOW 🙌🏻🥰🙌🏻) and Esau represents works in our flesh and everything that STOPS people from salvation and even coming to God and resting in Christ ...& it represents BONDAGE and slavery when God wants us to be FREE and Sarah’s Isaac the children of the PROMISE and FAITH ALONE A GIFT and the ONLY thing that can threaten Gods will for ALL to be saved and not perish and why his people perish for a lack of knowledge of the simplicity of the gospel and HIS WORK alone and NEVER OUR filthy works that are from the flesh. Gods will was that they trusted Him and His promise and that they would have WAITED for the promised child Isaac.. but we have free will (& yet God still works out everything for our good amen) and the Law came and bondage and slavery as well as pretty much all cursed gospels if I’m not mistaken- all works righteousness or work your way to heaven which God hates (bc they are NOT saved or covered by the blood of Jesus and he can see and judge their sins when we are trusting in the promise and CHRIST Jesus alone grace alone faith alone nothing else our sins are covered PTL) as he destroyed the Tower of Babel and the devil I believe is part of the “you can work your way up to heaven lie” and it sends people to hell because of unbelief so yeah God hates unbelief bc it’s the only thing that sends people to hell. The Pharisees also had unbelief and Jesus opposed them but never sinners. I could be way off base? But I have a feeling that God is really opening eyes and hearts and making a big deal and distinction between saved by grace and faith alone in Christ alone period (no Calvinism added!) and the “works “ false gospel camp that is blasphemous only God gets the glory and no man can boast amen 🙏🏻 🙌🏻♥️

I believe Dr. Woods is a very able teacher. His teaching later on in this series on the subject of Repentance is wonderful, and much needed. However in this present talk I would say he has not corrected the Calvinists' errors concerning the meaning of the word 'election'. Election is of course a biblical truth. God chose Israel to be His messengers to the world. He chose Jacob to have precedence over Esau. He has chosen all those who accept Christ to be predestined to be like Christ. He has chosen believers to serve Him, and given us gifts accordingly. However the calvinist makes the error of interpreting the doctrine of election as 'chosen to believe', (and by contrast the unbeliever is chosen to not believe). Election is to service, not to faith. And even if one says that election refers in some instances to salvation, it is only to those who have believed. This in no way denies or lessens the Sovereignty of God. He has, in His sovereignty, given us the capacity to believe the gospel and the freedom to reject it. He has given us all a conscience so that we may know right from wrong, and thus realise our sinfulness. Salvation is not unconditional; the condition for salvation is the recognition of one's sinfulness and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A calvinist brother once said to me 'Jesus purchased my faith on the cross'. I asked him to cite a single verse in the entire bible to support this statement. Of course he couldn't do so. But rather than reconsider his statement he made the weak (and I'm afraid dishonest and disingenuous) reply that the word 'Trinity' is not found in the bible either despite its truth. Calvinism is a theological system which replaces Scripture with endless analogies. It demotes plain scriptures and promotes doubtful interpretations. Calvinists, once ensnared in their form of man-made doctrine, are very averse to leaving their theological safety zone, and if driven into a corner will claim that their contradictions are merely 'holy paradox'. The calvinist even goes so far as to claim that God gives two distinct calls to men, one non- efficacious (which He determines beforehand will be ignored) and the other efficacious. The bible tells us that God would have ALL men repent and be saved.

p.s. When i referred to the calvinist's theological 'safety zone' in my previous comment, I meant of course 'comfort zone'. There is no safety in doctrinal error.

Here's the definition i got from the greek: Ekloge in the Greek the act of picking out, choosing • of the act of God's free will by which before the foundation of the world he decreed his blessings to certain persons • the decree made from choice by which he determined to bless certain persons through Christ by grace alone

Thank you for sharing so much information, insight, and research. I’m also excited about your new app, but KZbin will play in the background even if my screen turns off and my phone locks. Will you see if your app developers will allow for your app to do the same if desired? I like to connect to my Bluetooth speaker and listen while I walk or do work around the house. If my phone rings, your teachings on KZbin will restart upon hanging up automatically and I don’t have to worry about my screen turning off or leaving it face up in my purse. You have no idea how much I listen to all your teachings. I’d rather scripture going into my ears rather than anything else. Thank you again, as well as, for sharing names of others I can read or go to dependable teachings.

As things are in the world now, i have to live with a friend., She can even see how bad it is... she has an incredible repentant heart, and a forgiving Spirit though. But when I talk about the Gospel of salvation and the only way out, She wont listen she gets all bent. and if only she knew to believe, she has a good heart perfect to know Jesus. but she don't want to hear it.

Hey Pastor does Foreknowledge enter into anything at all. If not how does God use that particular Attribute in His Sovereign Choice. Could not His Foreknowledge concerning Esau selling his birthright come into play here when He said the older will serve the younger which makes complete sense if indeed God Foreknew and chose from His Omniscience

Biblical election is to service, calling and purpose, not to salvation. Predestination is of existing saints to adoption/glorification, not sinners to conversion. Adoption is the future redemption of the body, not conversion (Romans 8:23). No person is created for damnation, or predetermined by God to that end. Those who perish only do so because they refused to accept the truth so as to be saved. It is so unfortunate that calvinistic presuppositions go along with words such as "appointed", "ordained", "election", "chosen". This occurs even among non-calvinists. Calvinism is analogous to an insidious blood cancer that has polluted biblical Christianity. Acts 13:48 is an example of this. The presupposition of this verse is that God has appointed people in eternity past to salvation . That is is not what the verse is saying. If you go to verse 46, Paul and Barnabas were preaching to the Jews who in their pride rejected their witness. Paul and Barnabas then turned to the Gentiles who were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. So, the proper exegesis of this verse is that the Jews in their pride rejected the word, but the Gentiles who considered themselves worthy (appointed) heard the word gladly and believed. Please go to the KZbin channel "Beyond the fundamentals" This is a great resource to refute and "de-Calvinise" the false teaching of Calvinism.

✝️ 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🇺🇸 Now I’m confused...Are not all written in the Lambs Book of Life and when we reject Christ we’re removed from it❓I’m just perplexed that God wants everyone to be saved but not all are written in the Book❓ Is it that since God is omniscient that he already knows who would be present in the Lamb’s Book❓Is that the whole point of this message❓

With His freewill Jesus could have refused to die on the cross. He could have called down ten thousand angels to come rescue Him, even though it was predetermined and predicted in Isaiah that he would die for the sins of the whole world. But thankfully, he chose to go to the cross in obedience to God, but He didn’t have too.
@kristenspencer9751

Yes, Christ HAD to go to the cross! He spoke openly about it in His ministry. The cross was decided by the Father Son and Spirit before the foundation of the world! (1 Peter 1:20, Rev 13:8---among others). Jesus came as a Servant and subjected His will to the Father. Many times, Jesus said "I came not to do my OWN will, but He who sent me" John 5:30. The Father, Son and Spirit are ONE God, so they cannot have different wills, though they are each a Person with a unique role in the Godhead.

This unfortunately is an example of not fully letting go of Calvinism. There is no ' doctrine of election'. There is the word ' election'. Every time it's to service. Not ' to salvation'. John 6 is before the cross and it's to those who were already learning of the Father. They are the ones at that time the Father was drawing. They ' can' come. After the cross it's Jesus who draws all. JOHN 12. We have to be careful to not view scripture through a doctrine. Especially one which I believe comes from Augustinian-Calvinism. The verses quoted are assuming augustine Election ' to salvation '. Also the passages quoted don't say they were chosen ' in eternity past' and not once ' to salvation'. / ' to be saved'. Chosen for service is always in view. It just so happens that some verses are about already saved people being the elect ( to serve). I personally think Andy is a great teacher but unfortunately has not fully let go of the Calvinistic framework fully. This isn't helping by saying " it's both" . Practically this is still Calvinistic. It's why Arminans are still Calvinists. The only ' tension' is created by viewing election through the Calvinist ' lens'. Even if it's unwittingly.
