A view from every angle. Amazing. I’d worry about flooding. However, if I could afford the house, I could afford not to worry. I love the pops of bright colors in an otherwise sterile house. Gives it warmth. $15.25M and worth every penny. As I suspected, this home is on Lake Minnetonka.

Worth every penny if you won the lottery for 30 million , just think of the up keep , likely costs 50 thousand a year for all your taxes and privileges of the lake , electric bill would be crazy and heating the place . But like the one guy said if you have the money to purchase , you will likely be ok .

I would guess the peninsula is man made as well. I’ve seen more precarious builds on stone cliffs in Duluth Minnesota. I would be petrified to live in the cliff homes with their giant retaining walls. As I said in my comment, if you can truly afford this home, you can afford not to worry.

Minnesota is BEAUTIFUL! And it is the most expensive properties in all of Minnesota. Lake Minnetonka is a magical place! Nordic style homes on a beautiful lake with wonderful landscaping everywhere. Sure california or Florida is warmer but a winters day in Minnesota by a fire or on the ice is more heartwarming than 365 days in a one level florida home. I don't even own a home but support Minnesota forever!

There are many houses just down the road and across the bay that go for that much, but this house isn't one of those. This place sold for 2.5m back 2014, and has a current tax assessed value of ~7m. This is a complete money grab, and anyone who buys it for 15 is probably losing a lot of money

This explains its seemingly "low" 2014 price. Luxury realtors use aggressive price-points to create buzz. Aggressive pricing ≠ absence of fair market value.

Yep, no thank you. I wouldn't want it even if it was given to me free with all expenses paid. I grew up in that area & know too well the sadness of many of the rich. Nannies & au pairs taking care of children because parents are too busy playing tennis, traveling, having affairs, shopping... or both parents simply too busy working to raise their own families. I have been that route too & know a mom at home & a dad working to provide for them is the healthiest life for all & for society. These kinds of houses should be few & far between. My wish is society can get back to what really matters & most see a mansion like this for what it truly is, & that is unrealistic, & meant to only be in fairy tales. Money laundering 101.......

This land used to look a lot nicer before this characterless house got built here. Sticks out like a sore thumb on the point. It's also just a money grab on Sotheby's part. The house is assessed at like 7m, and it was purchased less than 10 years ago for under 3m. The price is just trying to make it look more premium than it is. I feel really sorry for any sucker that would actually pay 15m for this place

What's wrong with MN? I was born and raised and still live within about 5 miles of this home. It's only considered one of the very best areas to live in the entire country. Minneapolis, on the other hand...

I'm trying to decrease my carbon footprint like Al Gore told me to do. I'm checking into purchasing this house and putting a couple additions on it and a swimming pool...Al Gore owns a total of 3 mansions so apparently there's a way for me to buy two more mansions besides this one and still claim I'm not a CO2 climate hypocrite.
