Don't you need to use a tx-USB Ultra instead of sMS 200 network player as you are using a USB?

Thanks for your review, that helps! Maybe using a nas instead of a hard disc could speed up the performance of the sotm... The next step for you may be to add a dedicated dac like the chord qutest instead of the built in dac of your Lyngdorf, no ?

Thanks for the review. That was useful to me. I have personally tested SOtM SMS 200 Neo with different types of power supplies (both SMPS and linear power supply) other than SOtM SPC 500 and the result is the same. There are some minor or subtle improvements in sound quality that are not justified with price of PSU according to my opinion.

Thanks for review. In the test you say that it does not respond well when you connected an external hard drive. Because I have a huge collection (over 1000 albums) on a NAS and I listen with an Odroid C2 with Volumio, it would be an upgrade, in your opinion, to buy a SoTM SMS 200 Neo and if so it is believed that I would have a problem by reading the NAS. Unfortunately I do not have the ability to test. Thank you

Hi Kostas, Ff you are going to use the SMS to read the NAS directly then the operation may not be super fast but I am sure it would be better then having the hardrive connected directly to the SMS. If you are going to use a player such as Roon or Audirvana to read the files on the NAS and then stream to the SOTM then playback will be seamless. The SMS is a very stable streamer. I have had it for about a year now and have had no issues. The only thing I don't like is it takes awhile to switch from Shareplay to MDP/DNLA. (about 45 seconds) It does not sound like a lot of time but if you switch between programs several times a day it can get kind of annoying.

@@chestermango1201 Τhanks for your prompt reply. The connection I have now is NAS - Switch Ubiquiti Edgerouter X - Odroid C2 with Volunio - Ideon 3R Reclocker - Soekris DAC. I think the replacement of the Odroid C2 with the SMS 200 Neo will give better sound quality.

@@chestermango1201 Hola. I realize this review is more than a year old, but I'm going down the same path and had a few questions, if you don't mind. The video didn't show how the Neo was connected to your network. When you mentioned you tried connecting a hard drive, was it connected through the Neo's USB input or did the drive hang off the ethernet switch? Also, was it a stand-alone external solid state drive or USB stick? Gracias!

@@magnusdens1381 Hi Magnus, I connect a physical 1 TB disk hardrive to the Neo. The preformance was ok but a little slow. The Neo was also connect via Ethernet to my router in order to connect to the network. The Neo does not have stand alone wifi built in. I have since replaced my Neo with a Bluesound Node. I am using the Node just as a streamer, and not using the built in DAC. As a streamer the Node is more reliable than the Bluesound and easier to work with.
