In photos, the A54 colours more saturated than the A55. The A55 has EIS in more modes in video. That why the A55 is slightly more cropped in! Stabilisation is now available at 4K 60fps. A54 exposure is slightly higher, probably at the expense of dynamic range. Basically the newer SoC has improved the video performance on the A55. I don't think it's worth upgrading from the A54 to A55. From a much older phone, maybe yes.

Well, it depends on someone's needs and preferences. The addition of 1080p 60fps video stabilisation and portrait night mode could be enough reasons for some people to upgrade from the A54. I have the a54 and it can take some real good videos in 4k if you can manage to hold it still which isn't easy lol. I definitely can tell the difference in the stabilization, they really improved it on here I was very impressed how still it was compared to the a54. I am sad the U.S. won't get the a55. finally someone with some braincells testing cameras in 1080p, in every single review they only test in 4k as if 99% of people will use it or have enough storage for it. i saw your old videos about the A54 and again you were the only person talking about the stabilization problem in 1080p i would've never knew if wasn't for your video, and it shows how misleading reviewers are and because of them hundreds or thousands of people bought this phone and discovered this defect but it was too late. and when i was searching for the A55 you were the first one came to my mind and thankfully you did a comparison. we need more people like you. thank you.

As an audio guy, the A55 destroys the A54 in the microphone and sound department. The tones are warmer with noticeably richer lower frequencies (think bass), while the A54 sounds like it was recorded inside a tin can (with dominating mid to high range frequencies). I have the A55 and while I do wish that kept the original size of the A54, I do believe it is the better phone (brick) overall. But I would be happy with the A54 as well, especially since it seems easier to handle with one hand. However, I have never held the A54 before and some people said it was already too big to operate with one hand, so you tell me. Apparently the A54 also has a heating issue while the A55 has a much bigger cooling chamber, so at least all that new size increase isn't wasted. It never gets hot in my hand, warm at most if I'm really trying to feel it. And by the way, that video stabilization comparison is night and day. A54 has the shakes for sure. Advice for A55 users: only buy pants with deep pockets 😛

I have a54 and bff has a55 i would say it is not worth the upgrade they are a lot similar a55 has a bigger screen and a slightly better selfie camera but i kinda like the rear camera on a54 more because it is saturated i would say it is matter of personal preference also both devices are so fast so definitely not worth the upgrade
