The audio is much, much better than on most channels, even within the obvious limitations of YT. Thank you, this old man is getting back to listening to quality music. We started with vinyl and tube amps; home made speakers to high end specs. This quality is like a breath of fresh air in a heavily polluted environment. Don't give up. Even on my budget Wharfedale Diamond 10.0 shelf speakers it sounds like paradise. My ears are starting to relax again. Not all is lost in this digital age.

Yes, it's better, I listen with my SENNHEISER HD 201 and it's perfection, even youtube quality is around 224-256kbps. It's by far better than Taylor's Swift and Billie Eilish albums that they have very hard bass, distortion, flat waveform, closed dry sound and the highs barely can be listened. Even on vinyls of some new commercial releases, that they are very expensive and one friend of mine, listen these from his 5500euros turntable/audio system, sound is so artificial and distorts.

It make a strange remaster adding strange frequencies and increase so much the loudness making flat the waveform, also they use closed or dull bass and drums hit so hard that distorts. When I listened dolby atmos or other platforms hi-res, my ears had something strange then

Besides "flac" right next to "320 kbps" doesn't make much sense either... 🙃 However, uploading audio to KZbin using a lossless format (such as flac) does make a difference and gives a much better result than uploading mp3s (which sadly some people still do). As of today, the best audio quality you can get when listening to KZbin is Opus encoded at around 160 kbps, which is not too shabby.

​@@ALEX-WTF-ds4pe Ok, I don't speak Russian but understand the gist of it :) you could just check for yourself by recording the audio and look at a sonogram, you will see that this does not go over 16kz, which means that this was likely encoded from a lossy format such as mp3 and it's pretty far from "Flac 32bit 320kbps" (which does not make any sense altogether if you care to check the specs of the FLAC format) or you can just delude yourself into believing that the title of the video is accurate. These are just the technical facts and have nothing to do with the music being good or not. So, don't let that prevent you to enjoy the music :) Have a nice day.

did they reveal that the audio quality of this video is technically quite a bit lower than your average music CD? what you're hearing here is bog standard OPUS audio at 48kHz and probably about 180kbit/s bitrate on average (it's using VBR, not ABR or CBR to be clear). this is definitely *lower* than what you can get on spotify if you configure it for high audio quality. let me be clear: i'm not saying that this video has "bad" audio quality. OPUS is really great lossy compression. but it's not remotely as good as lossless formats in terms of audio quality.

I was curious and downloaded it in 4k. OPUS codec outputs 48khz 16bit 1536bitrate input quality. very good. As if listening to a 24bit 96khz recording, the quality is good.

Just adjusted output laptop from 48khz to 384khz 32 bit, external akm dac, Single Ended 3 watt tube amp, wharfedale 3 way pa speakers: result is realistic! Filter of speaker is upgraded. Mid with k75-10 caps, high with silver mica caps as bypass.

KZbin does not allow 24bit 192Khz sound quality! So you can't hear all the high and low tones well through KZbin and the vocals are muffled at times. The sound of poorer quality music is generally louder.

technically mp3 is 64bit with variable bit depth but even if the upload was true the issue here is end user, most are 16-bit pre configured sound. KZbin needs a lossless flac option
