Another great video. You have a real knack for selecting the boats your viewers would really enjoy seeing and learning about. I always learn something new about boats and boating when I watch one of your videos. Example: I now have an appreciation for the quality/durability differences between Marine Trader and Grand Banks. Thanks for everything.

I really appreciate the encouragement. Thanks for been the most consistent commentator on my channel. I’m playing around with different styles until I find exactly what works for me. Personally I like trawlers the best. Just need to find more knowledge owners to show me around.

Nice boat. Needs a refit. The GB line of Trawlers started as wooden boats (pre-1973 I believe). As everyone knows wooden boats are some of the prettiest boats, but the most in cost and labor to keep up. The GB line of boats has always been a little pricey. A good thing now is that there are more and more new boats being manufactured. This means more and better deals are out there for these older vessels. The GB 36 was their best-selling of the GBs. Yes, those 32s sold strongly too. Especially when they changed over to fiberglass. I live in Seattle, actually Tacoma Washington. The prices of boats are ridiculous. I have noticed that vessels in Florida have been going up in price. You guys are now catching up with us. Nice GB 32 there.

Thanks for commenting. Yep everything in FL is going up up up.

The GBs made before 1974 are wood hulls. Unfortunately, in this market, wood boats of any kind are very hard to sell and I doubt any GB32 with a wood hull will sell for over 40k. This one could use a little cosmetic freshening on the exterior but otherwise looks pretty solid. Thanks for the tour!

Marine Inspection. That will give the details and the price can be ascertained after the MI.

Your comments, after 02:30; when you point-out 'spider cracking', the vessel's age (1977), and that "she has a lot more life in her". Do you feel that there is any 'realistic' cut-off to purchase a fibreglass boat, in terms of years since construction, IF she has been well-maintained? How often should a new gelcoat be applied? What are the frequency parameters for polishing fibreglass? Given the 'spider cracks', and that there could be (salt) water ingress through these, how would you rectify these and how soon should these be repaired? A discourse on this would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the comment. I will try to address this next time. I see it on a boat. You wouldn’t recoat boat but you would consider repainting it. There really shouldn’t be any concern with Water getting through the gel code is basically like the paint finish on a car. I wouldn’t worry about the spider cracks except for cosmetic reasons.

Was going to say Ford Lehman, but anyone can paint an engine gold. So that's what it is. Think the Gold means 135 HP. Red is 110 or 120. Sure someone w more knowledge will correct me if wrong

It's a Lehman but they forget to paint the gear, still red

Question: I see a Michigan Registration Number but a Florida registration tax stamp next to it on the wrong side. Why? If he's in Florida more than 90 days and registers it here wouldn't he need to display a FL registration number?

Nice looking boat, but it may be a little top heavy.

Thanks for watching
@johnduffy5326 ай бұрын
Why do you think it is top heavy? I guess you feel the superstructure is too much for the hull to provide good hydrodynamic stability? The hull looks quite substantial to me, however, you don’t feel this way.

Who wants to be realistic though. Many think their boat is worth exactly what they paid 15 years ago lol.

Wood boats may be cool, but make sure you can insure it. Older boats are becoming increasingly difficult to insure. Liability insurance is a universal requirement in every port and marina in the world. I personally don't trust any of these older boats with teak decks. Just to many topside screw holes to worry about. Older boats are known to leak like seives when it rains.

The pre 1974 GB boats aren’t sought after and aren’t worth very much they all have a wooden hull
