Oldster here...I don't know if anyone under 50 understands just how HUGE this album was back then. Yes; Soul II Soul was WAY ahead of their time. I know there is still great music around of course...but...they didn't have to attract with a gimmick or shock; they were simply talented.

Let me share my memory of when i first heard this like everyone else.Springtime i think it was 1992.At the SoundFactory here in NYC on a saturday night.We had been partying into the wee hours.It was 3 or 4 in the morning.Junior Vasquez played this acapella version.We were standing in the middle of the dance floor wondering what this sound was.THEN THE BEAT DROPPED! The rest is history.The song still bumps after 20 years.

I can remember being on The A train in NYC going from Far Rock, Queens to Downtown Brooklyn and listening to this song. Those times that I listed really made me take notice. I realized then that Soul II Soul would be timeless.
