I lost my son in 1994 at the age of eleven when he was hit by a car. This was his favorite song. We had it played at his funeral, followed by Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. I miss him so much.

I was an 8-year-old boy when I heard this song and now I am a 40-year-old man and every time I hear this song I become a child again. thanks Soul Asylum for that.

The music video for Soul Asylum's 1993 song "Runaway Train" is considered important because it helped raise awareness about missing children and may have led to the recovery of some missing children. The video was created in the late 1990s by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), Soul Asylum, and director Tony Kaye. It features photos and names of real missing children in the United States, and was designed to evoke empathy and compassion from viewers and encourage them to help find the children.

There's no more songs like this these days. Those were the years when social conscious songs are the things we listened on the radio. These days, most of the songs are about self indulgence of the artist.

This was my dad's favorite song. It's the poem on his obituary. He sang it every time he drank. The hundreds of times throughout the years and it never gets old. I can't listen to it without welling up and he's been gone going on 3 years now
