I hosted a panel at Sakura-Con 2015 with Eika Tsukiyomi as Soul and Maka from “Soul Eater”! This video is most of our Q&A session, where we covered everything from Soul’s feelings for Maka (and Blair), the art of the Maka Chop, Black*Star’s idiocy, fanfiction, and how to run a panel! We had an amazing experience, and we’re so thankful to everyone who woke up early to attend!

+Livingfantasy Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the panel! The jacket and pants were bought from a store called Unique Imports, which is inside a lot of large shopping malls in the Pacific Northwest. It was the last one of its kind. It came with the headband as well, but it was huge and not accurate, so I bought a different one that I saw in the store later on that actually fit. I plan to make this cosplay myself in the future, but until then, this one works well enough!

Olivia Miller Awesome, see you there, then! And it's no bother, so no worries! I don't consider myself very skilled at the art of vlogging (I'm hoping to start doing more of that at cons in the future, maybe), so I'm probably not going to be very helpful in terms of advice. I'd say to make sure you speak nice and loudly/clearly because public places can get super noisy, and you want your viewers to be able to hear you, especially if you don't want to bother going in later and adding subtitles. Keep "filler" footage to a minimum; quality is more important than quantity in my opinion, so if you focus on the highlights and significant moments, it'll be more enjoyable overall.

So here's a question, if you ever read this Uptown. I created an OC with my friend, and I'm curious if anyone finds this original. So the Meister, he is a towering 8 foot tall heavy winter suit with dual kama on his back, they aren't Weapons, but just as a way to fight if his special weapon is doing whatever else. It's actually just a mechanized suit that houses a kid that is a bit smaller than black star, he has a black arm, destroyed from frost bite, out of the suit he is really fast, but he is rash and doesn't take his own safety into account. His weapon, goes by the name Blizzard, he wears a hoodie and jeans, with sneakers, he has a very Jack Frost appearance, as his spiky dark blue hair is frozen, and his skin is deathly pale. He gives off a cold aura, causing rooms to lose temperature quickly. If held, he will slowly freeze the wielder, causing them to die slowly. When he is in weapon form, he is a snowboard, with a handle on one end, and a blade on the other, the blade does the same thing holding him does, freezing the enemies wounds and reducing his temperature. Thoughts anyone?

I'm going to be cosplaying Maka at Anime con in late September and I figured out how to make the scythe, I just don't want to spend too much on the clothing, and I'm not good at sewing. Any tips?

What I would recommend is to look at thrift stores like Goodwill and find items that are similar to Maka's or items that you could alter to make like hers. If you find a red skirt, add the pattern to it yourself if you want! Find a sweater vest that isn't quite the right color? Maybe dye it! Cosplaying on a budget is totally possible, so best of luck!

OCs for Soul Eater are very OP, hopefully the three that I and my friend are making are up to the challenge of being okay OCs, maybe you two could help?

It sounds like you have a good idea of what makes a good OC! In my opinion, it's about balance: there is no such thing as a "perfect" character. I have plenty of pet peeves about OCs, but here's a sort of summary of what I try to do. A well-rounded person has good qualities but also has flaws. They have strengths and also weaknesses. They have at least one insecurity about something. And unless you're deliberately trying to make a more undesirable character, don't go too far with it and give them so many flaws/problems that it becomes what they're all about. Don't let them use those instabilities as a crutch for everything they do. Even if you're character isn't "human", letting them have human imperfections is okay. Credibility and believability is important! I'm sure you'll do well!

Most conventions let you submit panel applications online through their website. They will then take some time to review it before emailing you back, letting you know if it was accepted or not. :)

Ahaha, I sort of was hoping they would too, to be honest! Even if they had though, we wouldn't have been able to kiss on the lips. Most conventions don't allow kisses on the lips in panels that are PG-13 or below, so we would have had to make some excuse to change it to a kiss on the cheek or something. Oh well!

Wow, that's a long way to travel! Good for you! I actually used to live in Texas for the first half of my life, so I know what that's like. At Sakura-Con this year I know there were a couple Miraculous Ladybug photoshoot gatherings, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was another one next year!

how do you get to do a pannel

Most conventions, a few months before they happen, will open up submissions for fan-hosted panels. You fill out the form they provide, giving them details about what your proposed panel is about, and then you wait for them to write you an email back saying if you've been accepted or not! Then you work out scheduling with their programming team, show up early to set up, and you're good to go!
