Link for the Free Windows Program. I actually use this each day so my screen is not so bright and thus create less eye strain : ) dimscreen.en.softonic.com/

Fantastic I was looking for a fix everywhere, the good thing about this app is that it can work on any game without changing the settings

I'm glad it helps!! I love the program since windows doesn't let u change the brightness from within for whatever reason. Bringing the brightness down a bit, just in general really helps with eye strain 🙂

Thanks for your concern for the console players but I'm good Yes sometimes it does get too dark but you can still see

I don't like the dimmed "fix". I think it just makes the game look uniformly dark. Even the reaver, a glowing spectral plasma sword, looks dark. The OG PS1 game is darker than the remaster, but only the shadows are darker. Bright things (the reaver, flames, etc) are very bright on PS1. You'd need a filter that darkens the shadow areas, but still allows things to glow bright.

Oh its not a perfect fix by any stretch but a simple one. Altering the Contrast would be the best option if it existed. Since that lets u control how dark, dark is and how bright, bright is
@n64fan6013 күн бұрын
@@GamingMyWholeLife So do you think just tinkering with the settings on your display would give better results then this "fix"? Also, I'd point out that the OG PS1 game looked like that on our old CRTs, which produced way better, deeper blacks than flat panels could for a long time. Play the old PS1 game on a HDMI modded PS1, or an emulator, and you find the color balance/contrast all of a sudden looks closer to the remaster than you might remember.

There's a lot of tools out there and comes down to preference. Playing directly with your monitor and actually pressing the buttons does give more options. That said, it's a much slower process and after your stuck with it until you manually undo it, lol. With this Dim screen program, you just turn it off and your monitor is immediately back to normal. I do miss those deeper blacks
@TheDarkguide11 күн бұрын
Sorry but if you have brightness control on your monitor?????
@GamingMyWholeLife11 күн бұрын
Its always such a slower process that way and after your stuck with the changed settings. I prefer the immediate ease of access using software 🙂

Wait? There are people who thinks Soul Reaver remaster is too bright? For me it's unplayable dark.

There was a good number of people who felt the Trailers were too bright. Playing the Game myself, I'm happy with it's natural darkness
