DJ 745 sat down with energetic” roots rock” reggae artiste Soul Rebel on her recent UK tour hot on the heels of her recent live performances at Notting Hill Carnival 2023 and release of the 'King Majesty' video.
During a previous visit to the UK in Summer 2022 Soul Rebel connected with Dillie at Stingray Studios
which produced a new hit single "King Majesty" and a follow up single Destiny. The King Majesty song has taken on a life of its own being a remake of an original Queen Majesty more than 50 years prior by many prominent reggae artists.
Soul Rebel hails from the town of Linstead in St. Catherine. Linstead has produced many musical greats such as the famous “Soul Defenders Band” renowned for their work with Coxsone Dodd at Studio One. She was heavily influenced by their music and was connected to many members growing up.
Soul Rebel has graced many stages in Jamaica such as St. Catherine’s Camp Fire, Reggae in the Hills, Sound Di Alarm, St. Mary’s Breadfruit Festival and The Jamaica Music Conference and many other showcases across Jamaica. In the United States she has performed in Florida, Connecticut, Washington DC and many boroughs of New York City.
