Someone once said that if you cry when you cut your onions it means you really care about them. You can use water in most soups and they will still taste delicious. Also a vegetable bouillon might be a good option, maybe you could find that in a local store or order online for keeping in your pantry next to the powdered milk. Yo have inspired me to make a pot of this soup too...Your bowl looked yummy!

I love that!! I do care about my onions! I really hope you make this stew it’s amazing! I actually found myself saving some aside in a special jar so I can serve it to friends when they show up! One thing I think I left out of the video was adding fresh cilantro on top of the bowl at the end with the toasted peanuts!! Let me know how it turns out!

You can use the sprouting part of the onion. I wash my hands with hot soapy water immediately after cutting hot peppers, or use rubber gloves if I'm working in bulk. Cayanne pepper is a hotter variety of pepper than what's used in chili powder. They are not used interchangeably, but often used together. You can also save veggie scraps in the freezer and make a broth from them. Food preservation is a skill set of mine. Keep up the good work and enjoy those tasty meals!

@Fireside-Chat-With-Kat oh my gosh, thank you for the tips!! I have to be honest I was a bit confused about the pepper powders, it seemed like they were the same only different names. Thanks for the clarification! I love the idea of using the veggie scraps to make my own veggie broth since I’m have a problem finding it for some reason. Will you be uploading any food preservation videos to your channel? I’d love to learn more!
