​@Howlingburd19 Honestly it's not a hard choice. There's so much to do and master in this game that by the time I get to the end I can start over and have to relearn. I've even done single character challenges from CotS mode where a single loss meant game over. Really tests your fighting style knowledge

Just have to say, I really enjoyed your commentary, covering the details and the story without much spoilers, only speaking of them when its relevant or must be pointed out, it makes for a very interesting watch for those that have not yet played or seen this game mode. Also funny with your remarks such as "the chosen ones". I really love such speed runs. FINALLY!!! I never thought I'd see the day a whole playthrough/speedrun of this game would exist. One of the best single-player experiences ever, aside that deekhole part in Mission 16 (??) where they replace all your long-range sidekicks with short-range ones, and have pushback mechanics in the towers. Unnecessary wall with that one.

Chronicle 13. Brunhild, with a lance, in an overpowered Separate, and your new troops are Kunai, Dagger and Steel Fan. I feel you; Brunhild's a close running for worst boss who doesn't have Guardian Force (and I'd rather fight Abelia II than her, even with Guardian Force)

The one in 16; that's the one that usually kills my runs. But you're not wrong about that one as well - I can usually cheese it with a lance build and A+B spam, at least.

I have completed this mod maybe about 20 times during like 15 years and a few days ago I used new strategy. 1:24:16 I usually put my 5 bandits outside the building(but near)letting enemies to conquer it. After that I am taking this back while they are moving through, and after I retake the building I am going to Kierkess with my strongest character. After his defeat 5 bandits easily destroying everything to Chester. With this I can avoid fighting those 10 enemies. Did you try it?

The move for the Katana-style 'Shoulder Charge' is B+K, a button combination that I have customized and mapped to R1 (a second R1 or a Triangle (B Attack) gives the uppercut follow-up that lifts them into the air, hence I usually spam R1 a little since it works). My usual ring-out follow up if I'm in position is then Up+Kick to do the spinning jump kick. If this is not the one you're referring to, leave me a time stamp and I'll figure out which one you're talking about

Hi, I've noticed one thing while watching your runs. How about using the Attack Throw moves against Girardot and Abelia? Attack Throw can ignore the Guardian Force ability, so I think it can make the fights easier and probably faster.

I mention this on occasion while running, but I have tried attack throws off-and-on over the years. The Katana has some attack throws but they are extremely difficult to land; some, like the Sickle's A+B, are a bit easier, but even when they do land they just don't do enough damage, especially considering the extra time it takes just to switch to the Sickle, and then back again afterward. Against Girardot, they might still be worth it to try for one character but since the combatants in that battle are chosen by effectively RNG I can't even guarantee to change the right character--they might not even make it into the battle. Against Abelia, she's generally easy enough that it's a waste of time to switch weapons on her anyway, especially since I just suicide after beating her.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think enemy AI Guard Impacts are based on the in-game timer, like if it's a specific second of each minute, it just changes a hit reaction to a guard impact unless they're mid-attack at the time (ie: you're punishing their attack, because cancelling an attack with a guard impact is logically inconsistent). That's why it feels so "random" when it happens.

@@TonyTheTGR Seems likely. Since GI is pretty much the super high-skill ultimate unbeatable defense move of Soulcalibur, the only fair way to enable the AI to use it is to put a severe limiter of some sort on it, and a timer (perhaps with a pseudo-random element to it so it's not 100% consistent or solvable) makes the most sense.

depends on what you have unlocked and, far more importantly, what movesets you are best/most comfortable with. In general, Barbarian and Ninja are the best of the 6 starter classes; Swordmasters are far and away the best unless you want specific regular character movesets; if not using Swordmasters, Knights and Samurai are both top performers

My tierlist. S - op/easy to use A - they are generally good and simple yet with a few strong builds that can compare to higher classes B - they can perform good but they are really hard to use C - bad, I wouldn't recommend S - Knight, Samurai, Swordmaster A - Barbarian, Ninja, Pirate, Sage, Assassin B - Monk, Dancer, Saint, Gladiator C - Thief

Is that allowed to run this with around level 50+characters? Because if you complete the cots you get to keep your main self made characters and you can start all over again from chronicle 1. Did you ever considered doing this?

Cavalry are indeed faster than bandits, but they only do 3 damage to buildings, as opposed to 5 that Bandits do. So for the earliest-game 100 HP Strongholds, instead of needing to hit it 20 times to take it down, they have to hit it 34 times, and by the time you hit 500 HP+ Strongholds at the end of the game, instead of taking them down in 100+ hits, they 167+ hits; taking down the Strongholds that slowly really adds up over the course of the Chronicles In Chronicle 20, I've experimented with using Cavalry instead of Infantry, but they are just weak enough that I lose too much HP when I try to bullrush the enemy forces (at least in Any% and usually SC%; in 100% I can use Cavalry in that mission)
