This is the first thing I've heard from them... I looked up Conor Oberst on here and this is the first thing that came up I love Bright Eyes, so I thought I'd hear some of his other stuff. This is a different style, but he still sounds fantastic... and if he wrote the lyrics for this band too, then those will definitely be great, since he's a lyrical genius :)

I actually really love this. When I first heard The Mystic Valley Band it didn't really catch my attention and I kind of brushed them off; and I've been a long time fan of pretty much everything Oberst has done from Commander Venus to Desaparecidos. But I don't know upon further listening it's growing on me. I'm really digging this, sure it's different then Bright Eyes but who cares? It just brings a smile to my face. Really great stuff.

wow this video was great. I really like the new cd. to be honest the first time I heard it all the way through I didnt like it that much, but I gave it a few more listens and now I love it. he is obviously not going to make anymore music like "fevers and mirrors" or "letting of the happiness" but what he makes now is still good. btw, I have to agree that he really looks happy. its nice to see that for once.

Since in a June 2009 issue of Rolling Stone Conor announced that he wanted to "retire" the Bright Eyes moniker and would be making one final album with the band: "It does feel like it needs to stop at some point. I'd like to clean it up, lock the door, say goodbye." The album is planned to release in the fall of 2010 on Saddle Creek Records.

The passion Conor had when he was younger is still there though thekansopolarbear. Look at the end of the song where he freaks out. Reminds me exactly of Road to Joy and If Winter Ends.. His music is still great and rich with emotion, now just the happy kind.
