Hey there!🤘😊🤘 Rizzo was on here live the other day jamming and was telling me and everyone else watching about how awesome a person you are, also about the racism BS you have had to unfortunately endure from the Soulfly camp. The last group of people I would have ever expected to hear about with throwing racist comments out to others. I read your blog after Rizzo mentioned it. I am sorry you have had to deal with that, and by the way, wow….Rizzo wasn’t kidding, you are gorgeous! Respectfully of course . Also such an awesome guitar you bought for him! He has been shredding on it during recent live videos on here, and talks very highly of you and how you gifted him that beautiful axe that he loves so much. He is lucky to have you in his life that’s for sure.👍Well the other day I finally caught an interview Max did on Totem that I had not seen yet, and I could not believe what he was saying in it! Trying to act as if Rizzo’s shred skills became stale. HA what a joke Max!!! None of us are buying that BS one stinkn bit MAX. I try to be as fair as possible on both sides always, but I now definitely do not believe anything that comes out of Max’s mouth anymore, especially with the lies and pathetic excuses he uses in that interview trying to act as if the music became stale because of Marc. Pathetic on your part Max! Absolutely pathetic in every way!! My comment is like the 2nd one at the very top on that video and I call him out on his bullshxt in that interview definitely. I still was supporting Soulfly as a fan as well as supporting Rizzo just as much with thinking how there is always 2 sides to every story and it’s unfortunate, but still giving Totem a fair chance, but wow after I watched that interview (providing the link at the very bottom) (hehe sorry Rock Talks 😉) and then I heard what Rizzo told us on live feed, so I found and read your blog, and my respect level dropped completely for the Cavalera family. Max and crew always point the finger blaming others, but you watch the interviews with Andreas from Sepultura, and then we hear the great ROCK TALKS interviews with Bobby Burns and this one here with David Kinkade, all of the stories about the Cavalera camp are all the same in one way or another!!!! All so very similar. Though Max is always the innocent one who has people screw him over… HA YEA RIGHT, get out of here with that same ol’ lame BS excuses Max, none of us are buying it anymore. Why would all of these people just lie about similar stuff and decide to pick on you and the rest of the Cavalera camp? Especially since Max and crew are so innocent. Ha yea not buying it anymore Max. Rizzo is the greatest musician and person Max could have ever been blessed with after ruining his relationship with Andreas etc. The skillful Flamenco playing etc etc etc, and after the 18 something years Rizzo has put up with in Soulfly/CavConspiracy, they finally managed to ruin their relationship with him also. Everyone if not most all agree the best Soulfly albums are with Marc Rizzo, flat out. Max lucked out having a couple of producers do the leads/solos on Totem for him, though most sound like rip off’s of something Rizzo would have written (no offense to those other musicians) let alone all 8 albums Rizzo made with Soulfly (and 4 kickass Cavalera Conspiracy records). Max’s son drums and Mike another younger musician on a bass, no offense to all them because Mike can play bass awesome, but before we all know it, it will be grandpa Max with a bunch of kids on stage only. What the hell did you allow to happen Max? Sheesh. I’m sure though they will convince another kid talented lead guitar player to join them. Someone they know they can get away with not having to pay good money to and not give any much deserved writing credits or royalties to. Just so sad and disappointing because so many of us luv, look up to, and believe in everything Max writes with all of his musical projects. Man do I wish it wasn’t this way. I hate to learn of all this negative energy with Max and crew. Anyway, us fans are stoked Rizzo has someone like yourself in his corner and we can’t wait for all of his new music! 🤘 Rizzo will always be one of my guitar hero’s and inspirations. Fan of Max Cavalera and Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy... BUT to those who say Max is Sepultura, and Sepultura today is nothing without him and Iggor Cavalera is delusional... Listen to 'Chaos A.D.' and 'Arise' records... listen to the guitar sound - that's Andreas Kisser on guitar. That tone... that shredding... That's Andreas. When u see Sepultura live w/ Derrick Green, listen to the overall sound - it sounds like the Sepultura records (even w/ a different drummer) w/ Paulo Xisto on bass... I went to see Cavalera Conspiracy live, and the Sepultura songs sounded like Marc Rizzo playing Sepultura. I suspect that Andreas Kisser played a lot of the guitar tracks on Sepultura albums since 'Schizophrenia' in 1987. If u listen to 'Morbid visions' by Sepultura, it doesn't sound like Andreas at all because Jairo was the guitar player, Max played bass on that debut album. Andreas Kisser has a distinct guitar sound... Marc Rizzo is just a tremendous guitar player... Max Cavalera obviously had a good creative chemistry w/ the band members, but from what these former Soulfly members are saying after Marc Rizzo quit Soulfly... it seems like Max & Gloria Cavalera have this management system that resulted in the 1996 fracture of Sepultura. They run Soulfly and Max's projects like a family business, and that doesn't sit well w/ the 'hired guns' who find that Max gets all the creative credit, when he does not play the creative role he claims to have. Another thing that struck me was former bassist Bobby Burns saying that Soulfly barely rehearsed... I felt that they were always somewhat shaky live... a bit more 'punky', while Sepultura was a well-oiled juggernaut. So, Sepultura w/ Andreas Kisser and Paulo Xisto (and now drummer Eloy Casagrande) is actually a sizable part of the classic band and has every right to carry the Sepultura name and play the songs that Andreas played on the record... Andreas has clearly worked hard w/ Derrick Green to be creative and make Sepultura a great live band... whereas Soulfly (and Cavalera Conspiracy) has been carried musically by Marc Rizzo until 2019.

Andreas wasn't an original member in Sepultura and he has made a lot of mediocre pussy music and been trying to do Sepul as a cover band since 96 😆 respectfully I disagree. No denying Andreas can shred and has great skills and originality but he isn't any better people than the Cavaleras and to be honest he is full of himself in regards to anytime the Cavaleras are mentioned and if it wasn't for them he wouldn't of been hired into Sepultura so...

Great interview man. I must say as a huge fan of Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Sepultura it’s kind of heartbreaking to hear this stuff because I do believe Max is a great writer I really do think that he is but it just doesn’t sound like he’s trying as hard as he used to. It really feels like he’s going for quantity over quality these days and he is putting out albums so he has a reason to tour but I wish Max was a smarter businessman. I mean honestly I think the first three Soulfly albums we got were probably the way that Sepultura we’re going to go if he would’ve stayed in Sepultura. But going back to his business practices it’s like dude why didn’t you fire the other two guys in Sepultura ? I mean it was his band and he decided to quit the band but let them have all the rights to the name? I mean anyone that’s gone to a Soulfly concert will tell you that A good portion of the set list our songs from Chaos AD and Roots. But it is what it is but man he’s turned into Dave Mustaine it sounds like. And what I mean by that is today’s Megadeth is really just Dave Mustaine’s solo project and it really sounds like Soulfly isn’t really a band it’s just the Max Cavalera solo project and when have multiple side projects in every side project is just a group of musicians you throw together for that certain album it’s like what’s the point of you of even having Cavalera Conspiracy anymore if there’s no difference between the two bands if there isn’t going to be a steady lineup with either band and it’s just whatever musician you can grab at the time then fans cannot latch onto that. I think that is something that has hurt Megadeth after he fired Dave E. For getting freaky online with someone who wasn’t his wife who was in her late teens early 20s which I think every rockstar on the planet has done then it’s not really Megadeth anymore. Max is done the same thing to Soulfly. This is in a band this is just his solo project under the name of a band. It was so heartbreaking to hear Marc’s interview, the guy was in the band for 18 years and helped write most of every album but when Covid hits the guy literally hast to go be a construction worker because Max isn’t paying him money as a writer, not really giving him credit as a writer and then he puts out a live DVD and the guy doesn’t get any money from that. I know Max and Gloria don’t like all these interviews getting out there but you reap what you sow. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and almost every Soulfly album says it was written by Max. That’s really heartbreaking man but I’m glad the truth is getting out there because I hope now that Max will maybe take a look in the mirror and realize that he’s made some bad choices. I’m not saying anything like “ F Max ! I’m not supporting them anymore.” The guy is a legend and there was a time when he was a brilliant writer but you gotta treat people right man I believe everyone makes mistakes and everyone should have a shot at redemption. Great work on putting these interviews out man you’re doing a terrific job with this channel.

Yeah, it’s really lame that Rizzo didn’t get any writing credits at all. That’s just so Max can make all of the money and Rizzo doesn’t get any of the royalties. I imagine he probably wasn’t paid much at all for touring too. I’m not the biggest Rizzo fan and that may be why the later Soulfly albums don’t do a lot for me besides a few songs. He’s a great player, just not my favorite. To me that is the most telling thing of all that Rizzo wrote most of those albums. You can hear a lot of Max on the first 3 albums and soon after everything shifts. Enslaved was probably Soulfly’s best album. I tried going back recently to listen to the first and third albums which were my favorite, but the numetal/world music styles don’t hold up for me anymore. Old Sepultura never gets old though. I also think the new Sepultura albums are better than Soulfly too, but I think I’m in the minority according to most KZbin comments I read.

thank you so much. i really waited for those stories for years because i knew since at least 'Dark Ages' that many of those Songs coud never be written by Max. And that would'nt be a problem, if the Liner Notes wouldnt say 'all Music by Max' It is really pathetic to take Credit for the work of others. Sepultura became great when Andreas joined, Soulfly became great when Marc joined. Max talks shit about all the People who were responsible for his success! And everybody tells the same Story, from Andreas and Paulo to Bobby, David and Mark, but they never talk shit like him, they only say they are glad they aren't around him anymore. Same thing with Iggor, when asked about Sepultura he said they're over and a joke, and "he dont want to talk about dead people!!" That last Line broke my Heart! i will never ever support the Cavalleras in any way again! And i loved them, they were Icons to me.. And Karma is hitting in the End, because Machine Messiah and Quadra are Masterpieces.

Well said man. I couldn’t agree more. It’s 100% the same story from every ex member. I remember how bad they talked about Dave when he left, and he took the high road too. Even said Zyon was a better drummer! LMFAO. It’s madness. Charging fans $100+ to meet him for 5 minutes after shows, leaving sets the last song, not paying band mates fairly/properly, not giving credit…not giving royalties on live albums put out…Never taking any ownership and “firing” everyone. Just absolute diva bs and treating humans like garbage.

@@rocktalks5706 I already shared with alot of people...and yes "David kincade is amazing drummer and a very nice person"..the reason why I support him..is because when me and my friends saw Him play the Enslaved soulfly tour..he was super nice to us..and rizzo..max and that bass player they had..were super douch bags...they thought they were to good for everyone..after we support max..and hes not kool..with the fans. They go to the bus. .dont even care about there fans! Were the ones buying there music..and merichadise...the only 2 guys were super kind and nice to us was "Rizzo & Kinkade"! @@joelopez9627 exactly he’s lazy, Soulfly got worse since Kincaid left. Shit drumming, same groove riffs, the band is a one trick pony now. Dino shouldn’t be playing in Soulfly as a favor. I’m happy that Rizzo left. I feel like it exposed the band on how bad and boring they are without him. Yes, Dino isn’t a shredder and if you notice also they don’t cover Sepultura songs because he can’t cover Andreas’ solos. Dino is only there to sell tickets and that’s it. Once he’s done and back with Fear Factory, Soulfly should give up. Toxic band with no respect. I would feel bad for anyone joining them.

He actually said what most of us already know. Enslaved is Soulfly's best album so far. Too good to be written by Max. Just listen to the rest. It's always same structure, same boring chorus and plain drumming. It's closed chapter for me. Max is a history from now on.

I think Max is a great writer I don’t think it’s that Max can’t write good music because Max has written some great music but honestly what it sounds and feels like is that Max isn’t trying like he used to try. In the 80s in the 90s I think Max was giving it his all but it sounds like he’s just trying to do quantity over quality now.

Dana Wells was the wanna-be gangster scumbag the lifted his shirt pretending he had a gun, stating, "you want a piece of this?" . My buddy and I took off in my car while Dana Wells chased after us. Dana Wells caught up to us, threw out a beer bottle. He overcorrected and slammed into a tree killing himself and nearly taking 2 others with him. Dana Wells was loaded on drugs and alcohol, the weapon in his pocket was a beer bottle.

Kinkade is a good dude….I’ve hung out after shows those guys (Rizzo/Campos) and they are genuine. Max has always been a shithead to his fans and especially his band mates. This goes waaaaay back to Sepultura days. The fans know it, he knows it….He just says he “fires” everyone after they’ve had enough of his family and their bullshit. Glad to see him and Rizzo doing things. 👍🤘🏻

watched all the ex-Soulfly members interviews on this channel aside from Tony Campos who didnt wanna say anything, all of them almost said the same thing i like Max Cavalera but its obvious that he's surrounded by many piece of sh*t type of people who kept Soulfly as Max Cavalera and the "other hired musicians who worked for him" and you can tell that Max wanted it to be like this which is led to make other band members to be treated like sh*t ill be watching how Max going to do in the next album after Marc Rizzo is gone if he decided to make one
