Anupama Bhagwat’s sitar style combines the best elements of the Imdadkhani gharana - structured alap playing, rapid taans, and a detailed master of gayaki ang [singing style]. Her varied approach reflects the eclecticism of her guru Bimalendu Mukherjee, a sitarist who also played veena, surbahar, sarod, sursingar, mandra bahar, dilruba, esraj, tar shehnai, and pakhawaj. She won All India Radio’s sitar competition in 1994, and has participated in fusion projects such as Global Rhythms and Shanti. there is a difference between music and an expression of music i really like what she says its very hard atleast for me to just play with out looking at notes to express music from your own imagination and soul takes alot you have to get over the fear of thinking it wont sound good or not being good enough i play the violin and im having trouble with that i think thta she has encouraged me.

Anupama ji is very lucky to be born in a family where every one is musical. IN 1976, PANDIT BUDHADIYA WAS HERALDED AS ONE OF THE GREATEST YOUNG MASTERS OF THE WORLD OF SITAR MUSIC. HER POWERFUL STROKES EMBEDDED IN THE TRUELY MASTERFUL MEENDS OF HER GHARANA SEEMS LIKE A PACKAGE TO ENDURE IN TIME. IN THE LINEAGE OF THE GREAT MAESTROS, SHE WILL GO A LONG LONG WAY, IT IS CLEAR.

Its actually Basant Mukhari, which differs from Ahir Bhairav tuning by only one note - komal dha

Up till 2:32, I think it is Bageshwari. Basant Mukhari starts with the jhala at 2:50. Again from 4:20 to 5:30 it is jhala in Bageshwari. Finally from 5:50 it is little Alaap followed by jhala in Basant Mukhari.
