That was truly delightful. A tight, sweet cover of one of my favourite pieces of music. Thank-you for posting it.

Where can you find a fine gentleman with such artistic ability on both alto and tenor sax! Can listen to this wonderful music all day long. Such a joy!

I second that emotion. I've loved this tune since I first heard it and they just put such an excellent personal "spin" on it that I'm sure I'll be revisiting the song many times over from now on, Lord willing.

You are too kind. Now I feel I should go out and play more. Maybe my son will join me again, though he towers over me now!

Cool jam on an old classic. Figured out that you play both horns with maybe a third harmony somewhere. Your son or grandson was a nice touch. Really enjoyed your video!

Thanks Nestor - yes both tenor and alto. It was my son, but the confusion is understandable - I was 72 at the time, he was 10. These days I'm probably lucky his fastball is being directed at his friends, not me that much any more. Are you in the Bay Area? I'm a Berkeley guy in Tokyo. Go Warriors.

Oh yeah ... ! I remember when the original came out, I liked it ... and then the later vocal version by Swing Out Sister ... 'Am I the Same Girl'. But when I did a search, I found a 1968 vocal version I'd never heard before, by Barbara Acklin ... I guess the original. And then found a Diana Ross dance cover. Great blowin' Arn!

You guys are awesome, love the woodsy setting. I play alto, my husband plays trumpet, would like to play this. Where did you get the backing track?
@japanjazzman4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ann - When I used to gig (c. 2005) there were all these backing tracks free online. I'd be Hppy to send it to you...like on...how do we do that? Google Drive or something? It's a small file.

@@anngarvey2888 Just reviewing stuff here...(I never do.) But as for tracks, I should have recommended this. bobbysbackingtracks.com Super backing tracks. Many of my videos use them, and I try to acknowledge it. Keep playing!
