I met up with Doug in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania over the long Memorial Day Weekend Retreat of 2019. The whole event was outstanding. Everywhere I went I would ask others why Doug seemed perpetually happy. He himself answers this question fully in this interview. Enjoy, enjoy.

Thank you Jody, Ted and Dough for this beautiful inspiring video. Every time I watch a Souljourns video or read a Sai Baba book, each time I learn a new thing. I have watched all of your videos and wait for a new one to be posted. I love to hear about other people's spiritual journey with Satya Sai Baba, I have experienced his presences In my life from a very young age but I never talked about it thinking that people would think I am weird. After I came across Soujourns videos, I was surprised that many others had similar experiences as I did, and that confirmed my belief in God and in Baba but never looked for assurance in my belief. I met Sir -Doug Gaum, first time in 2015 as student of Jyothi Meditation at Pocono Mountains... that first meet and the course of meditation made me so blissful. OH MY GOD! I was happliy watching along and the moment he said The great Ones who report to Baba... Saint Germain- I started crying. You got me choking. I've been connecting strongly to ascended masters and Jesus. Christ consciousness is high at present. I came across a talk by a great Christian preacher who confers directly with Christ. In his talk he said Jesus told him about the second coming and he did a rough calculation to estimate the coming of Christ to be 2019. And is this not the year the sai avatar incarnate again. Do we have free will?

Karma is said to exist only to the 'unenlightened' individual (jiva) who believes that he is the creator and designer of his own destiny and in doing so, has Free Will. By having Free Will, one associates oneself with being the 'doer' rather than being the 'observer'. This Free Will is only apparent at the level of the 'individualized consciousness' or 'ego', and as the ego is an illusion based on ignorance, so too is that which appears as being Free Will. So, Free Will is only a belief to the unenlightened mind. To the 'enlightened' one, who is freed from the clutches of the 'ego', who experiences himself as the Atma; he is the 'observer' and knows that everything is preordained, predetermined - and thus the enfoldment of the Divine Play (Leela) can be foreseen - and that he is merely an actor in this "Divine Play"; not to here 'do' but to 'observe' the Drama around him.
