love them all to be honest. Ark is the game where i've put the most hours into. Grounded, vallheim, enshrouded, Soulmask, greenhell, etc All good games.

Same as you, been playing survivals, rpgs and fps my whole life. But man this game feels really refined, if they could just add some randomness like jungle events here and there, tribesmen caravans or instance raid dungeons for extra gacha loot it would outshine everything.

Palworld? It's more akin to Conan Exiles, I'd say. I hope they work on the combat a lot. It's pretty clunky, and leaves a lot to be desired. They need to make weapon swapping more smooth. I often found myself pressing the number key to switch weapons after an attack, only to not switch weapons. A lot of attacks aren't fluid, either. You'll try to chain them and just end up doing nothing. But, that's the nature of Early Access. If they fix those things, combat will be superb. Edit: I'll correct myself. It's a mix of Ark, Palworld, and Conan. The NPC workers are definitely more like Palworld. They're completely static in Conan, basically being part of the crafting benches they work at. The combat and setting are similar to Conan. I actually don't know what to compare to Ark, aside from the terrain. So maybe just Conan & Palworld gameplay, in an Ark map.

Palworld does have a chest filter option now btw. You set the filters and the chest will only allow items of the selected categories.

@@BeardedHobbit I got Ark free on Epic Games long ago but never really played it. I was always turned off by Too Much Info on the Tooltips when hovering over an item/Mob description. It's like an entire paragraph of information describing a Stick. I like simple information. Soulmask looks very good, I'm debating getting it. :)

Conan Exiles definetly has much smoother animation and combat than Soul Mask, and that you think this is smoother, feels like you've not played Conan Exiles at all.

Once they work out the kinks, I think it'll have better combat than CE. That said, I haven't tried pvp. Maybe fighting npcs has given me a false impression. I often found my attacks not registering in CE, which left a bad taste in my mouth during pvp.

I mean conan exiles has some of the worst pvp there ever is. Laggy af and it's basically just a guessing game of swinging until you actually hit their hitbox and stun lock them to death. The pve isn't bad but it's basically just a rare few dungeons and that's all you get. The best thing I can say for conan is the freedom to build pretty much anywhere. Other than that, conans pvp combat has always been complete garbage

You know what they won't tell you? Some engagements feel good and balanced more than half of your battles feel one sided though. You are either in control or not. Kinda mid once you master perry if you want that elden ring feel its a nah and if you wat something more chill like valheim battle thats allso a nah. Just weirdly in the middle. Nice and mid. Kinda like this review 😂
