The scary thing about van basten's time at Milan was that he wasn't even at his peak at Milan,his ankles were badly injured in his last year at ajax and before his ankle problems he was much more agile quick and more skillfull,and despite not being at his physical peak he still played really well at the club,125 goals despite playing only 6 seasons in Italy(when it was the toughest league and had the best defence).now imagine if his ankles were at it's 100%.

@@R08R since the Milan 3, the world class Dutch players include: Bergkamp, Davids, Seedorf, RVN, Van Der Saar, Robben, RVP, Sneijder, Stam, Van Dijk, De light, Cocu, Kluivert, De Boer twins, Overmars, and that's just off of the top of my head. Maybe none of them were as good as Van Basten but they were all considered world class in their prime. I'm English but I've always loved Dutch football and read multiple book about the team from 1974, Rinus Michels, Cruyff etc etc.

E poi tutti i 3 pressavano per il pallone perche erano totali, tipo calcio olandese. Hai mai visto Rijkaard giocare in difesa e dopo fare goal? Hai mai visto RUUD giocare nella fascia con la nazionale e in attacco Bergkamp, van basten? Van basten giocava contro picciatori al contrario di questi 3.

Basta vedere questi 3 fenomeni per capire che il Milan di Sacchi rimarrà una squadra irripetibile. Un consiglio per tutti: leggete il libro di Van Basten. Di solito non mi piacciono molto le biografie degli sportivi, ma il suo libro non serve a celebrare uno degli attaccanti più forti di sempre, bensì racconta la storia di un uomo che é caduto 100 volte e si é sempre rialzato.

But when I imagine those two teams against eachother I think the power and pressure that Milan played (they called it ‘forward defending’) by players like Rijkaard, Donadoni etc. combined with their scoring capacity by Gullit/Van Basten would tip the scale.... what did I prefer watching: Barca! That team was incredible!!
