Lord Seth really made this album a black jewelry just as the previous ones alongside Blakkheim and Mr. Le Huche (who sang _Scarlet Heavens_ at _Saw you drown_ [ep]). Though this one is considered by some an "oddball" (see reviews at metal archives), it carries a moribund atmosphere that is hardly found at the sequels. _Shades of emerald fields_ is truly a saudosistic elegy that makes one questions time, existance and traces of a supposed common destiny.

+RitualSounds the dance of december souls is good but I still think this one is a lot more mature and polished. It still has the dan swanö touch but all in all a bit better. but I can totally understand if someone prefers the dance.... both are awesome albums.

Haven't heard this EP up until now. I think the songs here are a bit more coherent and better structured than on the first album, given that this was released afterwards.
