Amazing video, but more importantly a soul touching song. I can't get over how anything Mark Lanegan touches turns to gold (in the sense of deep, meaningful music). I could be wrong here, but a lot of people seem inclined to read what they want to read into this video. It's amazing that the video very clearly fits the theme of the song; he's lived a life of alcohol, lust and eventually murder - and now he's hoping he can be forgiven by someone, anyone. It's not a criticism of any religion, it's not a song about religion. It's about guilt and being forgiven for your guilt.

I'm a big fan of Flannery O'Connor's writing and discovered SoulSavers for myself after they supported Depeche Mode in Manchester last December. I recommend that people read Wiseblood or watch John Huston's weird film version - it is fairly obvious where Lanegan and co. get their inspiration from - they clearly have great taste!

God I love this song! I wish Mark Had made it! His voice and depth were one of a kind- seriously, one of a kind. So many artist just scribble lyrics to just get it done. Mark -lived- his songs, what he sings about are about his life and experience’s, the “ top 40” today are mindless,soulless and meaningless garbage!
