I am on PC so i am using a 'Next GEN Fake RTX Reshade' Mod for DS3. This reshade respects the Artstyle of original and tones down the greyish look of the game and add colous. Many reshades for games are trash but this one is surprisingly superb. And no performance loss

I like the gimmicky bosses in Demon’s Souls. The bosses usually come after gruelling levels with very few checkpoints. The game had a roguelite element to it, where the challenge was getting through the whole level, while acquiring the knowledge to beat the bosses. In the later games, the bosses mostly became roll spamming encounters.

@MimicMora I played them in order of release. I see Sekiro as kind of being the opposite of Demon's Souls. It's a lot more focused on bosses than level design. The bosses and minibosses can be brutally difficult, but the levels and most normal enemies can be beaten easier or sneaked past.

It’s weird I like in sekiro you get one weapon and use it for the whole game but when I played bloodborne I didn’t enjoy having very little variety of weapons.Everygame has one or two things that are in the other games that would make it perfect.

Bloodborne has a fine base game lineup of bosses. Father G, gehrman, and martyr logarius are all top tier fights. Even fights like ebrietas, cleric beast, shadows of yharnam (an actually good and well balanced gank fight) are good too. Ds1 has the same issue but even worse when it has stuff like 3 asylum demons, bed of chaos, centipede demon, Capra demon, and ceaseless discharge all in the same game. I think you’re just trying to find reasons to discredit the game without actually understanding how it affects the game. I don’t really think ds1 has the best art style either, I’d give it second or third behind demon souls mainly cuz the medieval thing is extremely overdone and I find cosmic horror a lot more Ukraine and interesting and I’d say it’s harder to pull off because it’s hard to capture the true scale of it especially in a videogame.

Demon's Souls (simplistic start of the genre but there are many mechanics that need fixing) 5. Dark Souls 2 (creative ideas but clunky and bad execution, could be a great game) 4. Bloodborne (Great weapons and fun but most bosses suck and it's a bit too unforgiving) 3. Dark Souls 3 (amazing bosses but the level design is really bland, they could do better) 2. Sekiro (best video game combat but there are some bad-annoying bosses, good overall) 1. Elden Ring (astonishing variety and crazy exploration but it is too big and empty of a world with repetative encounters on the way)

@@MimicMora it's like a 6/10 imo (that's not ''that'' bad, not great either), boss quality was pretty much nonexistent, level design was immaculate but i can't ignore the second half, even if my first playthrough took only 11 hours and i first tried most bosses i just felt it wasn't my kind of thing. I played some years ago on my ps3 and it had issues at some bosses and places as you may know so that factored in my view. Also, i did not play the dlc, but don't worry i plan on playing the remastered version (+dlc) on the ps4 once i finish up with Elden Ring Dlc and Demon's Souls Remake (which is better only for the graphics, sound, and a bit of parry nostalgia). And i still fully believe that Dark Souls 2 is consistently bad, at least you can have your expectations low from that game but DS1 really let me down on that second half. Anyways, have a nice day :)

I made one melee character on my first playthrough, one magic character, and one incantation character. In every other game I had at least gotten to 10 characters

My top: 1.DS3 (Lorewise and bosswise i love this game so much, proly fav oat. I love the color work on this one, as its the ending of the whole story and it means to be dark themed and shi) 2.Elden ring( dont have to say more, greatest open world game + martin was making lore so couldnt expect less) 3.Sekiro(best fighting system no diff, Japanese setting which feels so cool in comparison to dark fantasy themed setting in othe fromsoft games) 4.DS2(gonna be thrown tomatoes but i really dont dislike the game at all. The versatility this game gives you is immaculate. I love the dlcs sm and ofc, DA DRIP😈) 5.DS1 (atmosphere is just on another level. The world building is crazy. Buuut, the mid and endgame feels kinda junky imo. Could have easily competed in top 3 but the tomb of giants, bed of chaos and seath feel just so off.) 6. BB(i cant say i dislike the game, i just dont like it as much as any other games on list, boss quality in main game is...well...u get it. Only liked like gherman, nurse and maybe amelia. Sekiro DS3 Bloodborne Elden Ring DS1 Demon Souls I have immense respect for DS1 but I was late to the souls train so I don’t have a personal affinity to it as much as others. Never understanded why elden ring is so popular. It has bad boss design with heavily inflated difficulty due to animation reading, a dlc thats not worth it considering the fact that its 40 dollars, decent lore (if you watch 3 hours of lore videos) and an open world thats just.. boring by fromsoft standards, seriously compare crossing all of limgrave vs central yharmam, in yharnam in yharnam you are facing CONSTANT traps and ambushes, raving madmen in the streets that actually speak to you saying some of the best voicelines in gaming like “AWAY AWAY” people inside their homes that you can save, talk to, get told to f off, multiple really good npcs that have some sick questlines, 2 very decent bosses that teach you the basic mechanics of the game and just to lead directly to odean chappel and cathedral ward, a very important area you constantly come back too. Now compare that to limgrave.. basic dragon fight thats reused 20 times, npc quests 99% of people are gonna miss dungeons and catacombs filled with basic enemies that are given a boss health bar, evergaols that do the same thing, a sea that you fall right trough(cause fromsoft still has no swimming mechanics in 2022/2024 despite the game taking place on an island) a tree sentinel boss thats also reused 80 god damn times, a caravan and mausoleum that are also reused 90 times troughout the game, kale an actually decent npc to talk to that had his questline cut, all leading to stormveil that houses margit, a boss thats reused as a common ass enemy in leyndell, and godrick(one of the fucking demigod shardbearers) thats reused in an evergaol also in leyndell… (limgrave is one of the best areas in the game btw) what mental gymnastics do you have to go trough to put that on number one and bloodborne at 4? The only thing you have against bloodborne is the other main game bosses are just kind of decent and the game is carried by the dlc but.. the game of the year edition for bloodborne is 25 dollars my dude… its so utterly ridiculous to fault a 15 dollar game for having its best content in a 10-5 dollar dlc meanwhile you are glazing elden ring, a 70 dollar game that reuses half of its content and has a 40 dollar dlc.. elden ring is decent, its the thing it got me into the souls series to begin with but its by far the worst edition to it tied with ds2. I understand you are doing it to not anger the elden ring fanboys who have not even played the other games but come on my dude. (Also i love how you said chalice dungeons are “worthless and add nothing to the game” despite them being crucial to the lore + having a couple pretty fun bosses and locations and then you went ahead and said nothing about elden rings caves and catacombs that are legit smaller, more copy and pasted versions of the chalice dungeons that are not only completley irrelevant to the lore but also have no unique enemies and bosses in them unlike the chalice dungeons)

Rdr2 is what an actual open world game looks. 90% of elden rings bosses are recycled multiple times, even main ones like godrick,margit and then godfrey and moghs first phases as well to name a few. The same cannot be said for elden ring cause the dlc for elden ring is expensive enough to be a modern AAA game(and it definitely does not have the best areas in the game cause its the first dlc in fromsoft history to get mixed reviews). Also i find it funny how you said the chalice dungeons are absolute trash but then said nothing about about the copy and pasted catacombs, caves, evergaols, ruins, churches and graves in elden ring that serve the exact same purpose the chalice dungeons do but without everything people liked about the chalice dungeons like random generation and cool lore. Elden ring is a good game. But compared to every other souls game including sekiro? At the end of the day its just dark souls 3 if 80% of dark souls 3 was recycled filler. @@MimicMora An open world game is described as a game where the player can approach objectives freely opposed to a world with a more linear and structured gameplay. In an elden ring playtrough you can choose to fight 2 shardbearer bosses before fighting morgot, then fire giant, then malekith, then gideon then godfrey and then the final boss. A couple of other mandatory bosses will be required to be beat so you can get to malekith for example. Outside of having to pick what 2 shardbearers you will fight elden ring is completley linear in terms of its main objectives. All the legacy dungeons where those bosses and the actual content of the game is located are linear. The paths that connect those points of intrest have nothing to do in them. No hunting, no fishing, no random encounters, no towns to go to, no npcs to talk to that actually matter outside of the main hub of the game, all the patrols lead to nowhere and wont start moving unless they see you, nothing. The world is completley linear and artifical. Now compare that to rdr2: every single npc has a daily routine, animals will hunt and be hunted without you ever being involved, random encounters are all across the map, you can approach each chapter in your own order, sometimes you get to make a choice that affects how the story will end, you have an honor system that will affect how people view you and how the story will end, you can donate money to your gangs camp if you have some to spare allowing the npcs in the camp to generally be happier, you have to maintain your horse by feeding it, brushing it, patting it aswell as actually bond with it affecting how much it listens to you while riding, unlike torrent that somehow has worse horse mechanics then ps2 shadow of the collosus. Commiting a crime in a town does not go unpunished once you restart the game, not only will the law in that state now be after you and the townspeople will be angry the next time they see you with some shops in the town not wanting to serve you cause of it. And even thats just barely scratching the surface of how much more stuff red deads world has then elden ring (and thats not even mentioning the fact that it absolutley dunks on it in terms of graphics despite being 4 years oldes and on last gen hardware)

Fantastic list. This is exactly mine with the exception of swapping Demon's Souls and DS2. Almost all areas in DS2 are below average with rather boring bosses imo. As linear as they are I at least enjoy most of the ones DeS. Also, finally someone else out there puts DS3 where it belongs. It's a great game but pretty overrated imo. The levels are boring but the bosses were some of the best, at one point in time. They have since been eclipsed by both Sekiro and ER and I find them kind of simplistic now lol

@@MimicMora i haven't played demon souls or bloodborne because i don't have a playstation but i've played the the dark souls trilogy, sekiro and elden ring. i'd have to say my favourite from what i've played is definetly either elden ring or dark souls 3, my main complaint with dark souls 1 is after ornstein and smough the bosses go down hill and dark souls 2 well i don't talk about that because it was cruel pain and torture

I think the early game is so boring to replay though I now I just skip almost everything and only pick up the weapons/talismans I want and golden seeds and tears. The dlc is much more fun to playthrough on its own because of how condensed it is. Thankfully I had like 5 lvl 150 characters just sitting on standby to play it when it came out

My top 3 would be: 1) Bloodborne 2) Dark souls 3 3) Sekiro Also i don't really agree with the critiques to Bloodborne that much. The bosses in the base game were just normal for the most of it, as the hunter couldn't costantly face super duper hunters and had also to focus on Kins and failed experiments. The only really bad ones in my opinion are Micolash due to him being just a strong npc and the witches of Hemwick for just their poor design. The chalice dungeons varied in beauty and hatred, as some were fabulous with good bosses while others were straight up hard mode things or farming material, you either hate it or love it, they are not useless nor unplayable, they just.. it depends on wether or not you're trying to get a platinum. I cannot understand unfortunately your love for Elden Ring, i finished it 3-4 times by now with even another character but.. i despise it, i seriously despise most bosses to the point the black bell hunter is my favourite. I don't like to explore that much, i think fighting is much more important in a game than just get into many good areas. And this is the same reason why i don't like by *that* much dark souls 1, good exploration but most of the times boring or bad bosses (some demons + BOC + Seath), and i were not used to blocking as neither DS3 or Bloodborne told me that as my first games.

@@MimicMora Moon presence was underwhelming i give you that, but a fit boss after having fought Gehrman. Ebrietas was not that bad and pretty enterataining. Celestial Emyssary is not bad, it's easy. Rom is just a pain for speedrunners but he isn't that bad and actually teaches you about patience. Also Mergo's wet nurse, the shadows of Yahrnam and the Dark beast Paarl were honestly fun in my opinion.

7. Demons Souls 6. DS2 The quality gets way better from here: 5. Sekiro ( Best Bosses in the genre and great fighting mechanics. But zero weapon variety and the level design and exploration are the weakest in the entire series) 4. DS3 ( Great Bosses and overall a very solid game with few negatives. However the world and levels are not interconnected well like the other games, and not alot of originality) 3. DS1 ( Best semi open world ever made, the world design and interconnection between levels is second to none. Sadly the bosses in the base game are not good) 2. BB ( Like DS1 the world design is great and art direction is superb, the bosses even though still not comparable to the newer games were a big improvement over DS1 and DS2. The big negative for me is the build variety and weapons, you can literally play the whole game without feeling the need to change weapon and there is very little build variety. Compare that to the many build options you can try out in Elden Ring its insane) 1. Elden Ring ( Greatest open world ever made. Its one of the very few games out there that makes you live out your fantasy dream. The world building and biome variety are excellent. And unlike other games if you are stuck with a boss you can explore and come back stronger than ever. Build variety is insane with so many cool build options you can try out. The legacy dungeons, medium dungeons, small dungeons the open world all make very unique experiences when meshed together. Only negative for me is the repeat bosses but I dont really hate them)

@@MimicMora Elden Ring was my first soulsborne game 2 yrs ago 😅 after 3 playthroughs I started playing DS3, then DeS but only a little bit before moving to Sekiro. After that I played DS1 and then DS2. The last game I started playing was Bloodborne. I never really finished DeS but it always feels like a chore and I'll see when I will finish it A big factor for me are the bosses and I think ER mainbosses, DS3 and Sekiro are a league on their own. I share the same opinion with you about BB's bosses and I think DS1 and DeS really disappointed boss wise. Only O&S, artorias and Manus where standouts for me while there where a lot of bad ones like Capra demon and Bed Of Chaos. I do think I enjoyed DS2 more than the average souls player. Idk man but I always was so excited about playing it when I was in my playthroughs. I can't really tell you what it was but It had something only ER had for me. If it wasn't for the BS like ADP, the hitboxes and the Runbacks, it would rank even higher.

I also love the world building of DS1 and seeing Anor Londo for the first time. or the whole vibe and combat and music of BB. also lady maria is top 10 FS boss ever for me. they're all masterpieces ;) and im curious to see what DS2 would have been if they had more time to develop the game

Oh god where do I start with this list. Well firstly, I think bloodborne is better than Elden ring. Bloodborne has unmatched aesthetic and combat, and also contains my favorite boss of all time. Elden ring’s open world does nothing but put artificial distance between you and the content, forcing you to look up how to get to secret main bosses. Having DS1 in the top 3 is disgraceful and in bad taste, especially being above bloodborne. Dark souls 1 is clunky and garbage in comparison to fromsoft’s other games. I don’t care how good the world building is, the game has to be fun to PLAY. I’m sure it was good in 2011 or whatever, but catch up to the current generation will you? Also the second half is straight garbage. Dark souls 3 is an improvement on dark souls 1 and 2 in every possible way, yet it’s somehow lower than 1? Interesting. Nostalgia must carry DS1’s ranking. Sekiro is overrated, that’s for sure. The combat was built for 1v1 encounters yet only like 10% of the game is actually that. They stuff every mini boss arena full of enemies and it’s stupid difficulty that’s not even fun. The bosses are good, so I wish they made up more of the game. So personally: DS1 < DeS =< DS2

You’re supposed to use stealth to take out the enemies around the mini bosses. Also why they give you all the ninjutsus, you use those enemies to your advantage. You missed out almost all the positives of sekiro. Great level design, it 100% feels the best to play out of all the games due to the new movement system and the modernised style of gameplay instead of their age old slow style they normally use, combat that actually allows you to stand toe to toe with enemies instead of rolling around everywhere. DS1 connectivity is on another level, I’ve never seen anything like it. You mention that bosses are only a small portion of the game for sekiro but ignore that the exact same argument can be used for DS1 in reverse You can’t name the flaws of things you dislike and ignore the flaws of the things you like. You said bloodborne has your favourite boss and ignored all the mid bosses it has. I like them but the difference is quality against sekiro, DS3 and elden ring boss wise is heavy and that has to be mentioned. Horrendous healing system too, also has a lot of clunkiness. You spent half your comment complaining about clunkiness and ignored that sekiro is the least clunky game lol

I don’t really agree with the bloodborne criticism tbh. Blood vials become inoffensive after around halfway into the game and they feel good to use too, and chalice dungeons are entirely optional so I’ve never understood criticizing them to make the whole game look worse. Removing chalice dungeons wouldn’t make the game better in any way, and it’d even lose cool weapons like the chikage which is a more mechanically complex weapon than anything in DS1 or ER. The base game boss lineup is also very contradictory because ds1 has a similair issue to an even bigger extent because that game literally has like only 1 truly great fight in the base game being orenstein and smough. Elden ring suffers from the same issue and even its best bosses in the base game have heavy issues. The only boss in ER base game that id say is truly S tier is mohg because he actually has a nice flow to his fight and isn’t inconsistent with his attack timings.

I also think ds1 bosses are worse on average imo, and the dlcs are super close but old hunters edges it out cuz all 3 levels are amazing.
