In the US, Vagrancy and Panhandling are actually considered crimes in the US. They are misdemeanors, penalties are usually a fine, some jail time. I have seen people arrested and/or jailed over these crimes while travelling the US as, among other things, as a prospector. In one place, a small burger joint, I have seen a homeless woman being arrested, taken to jail by the local PD. Given what I have seen here, via other postings, it may also be illegal to even give homeless people a coffee and/or a doughnut, cookies, all to discourage them.

Some towns and cities have made it a felony for feeding the homeless. Feeding the homeless and say a restaurant owner sees the person feeding the homeless in the park and giving out FREE food. The restaurant wants the person arrest because they are not going to be making money if someone is giving food away for free. Remember it's all about the $$$. So if the restaurant manger and/or owner and/or the city and/or town can not get money from selling high price permits, then they will arrest anyone that did not pay. So it's all about the $$$$ I myself wanted to help people like seniors who just got brand new computers and wanted to pay me to set them up for them. But I got a cease and desist order because I was getting paid but did not have insurance, a tax sales register number and so on. So IMO it's all about making money and if someone is giving food away for free, then the restaurant near by won't be making a profit and then call the police on the person feeding the homeless. Because of nothing more than greed.

Sad but true...in most places I've been homeless there used to be about 20 people helping the homeless with food and clothes and other necessities...but it dropped to only 4 because they were either arrested or fined so heavily they couldn't keep it up due to the fact they were close to ending up homeless themselves due to the fines...it breaks my heart...so many good people getting fucked over by the government

What’s so illegal for feeding the homeless? They may not have home or jobs but they’re human beings.

We have people out there who are doing a better deed and we have the other people out there that have these kinds of people arrested

The cop is actually right. Zoning laws should prohibit people from providing services to homeless people that would attract them to areas where they are unwanted.

@@Zachboy007 I agree w/ TimixG73!!! I mean, you should try looking @ the situation this way. What if you were in that poor homeless fellow's shoes?? Wouldn't you want someone to maybe extend his/her hand out to help you out?? After all, it goes to show that, every now & then, even good fortune needs a little helping hand.

I can see Daryl Meyer as the assistant to the Mango Park Public Schools superintendent with Verne Alexandre as the school superintendent, in a future Soul Snack episode where Sheriff Johnston and 2 of his deputies usher junior high school students back into the school cafeteria from being outside, during a dangerous smog alert from wildfires burning in the Everglades. One kid suffers an asthma attack from inhaling smog particles and has to go to the nurse's office, accompanied by one deputy, while another arrests the principal for mass child endangerment for making the students stay outside, during the lunch hour in the smog. The superintendent's assistant becomes acting principal and takes the first official action by allowing the student that suffered the asthma attack to go home and rest, but is also advised to visit the doctor also gets his school work for his 2 remaining classes, since he has study hall in 7th period. As for the principal that was arrested, she's hauled off to jail and the superintendent schedules an emergency school board meeting to decide her future with the Mango Park Public School District. I can definitely see Bob Sharkey back as Sheriff Johnston with Terrell Mitchell and Emilie Smith as the deputies with Tracey Eman as the principal that gets arrested. Working title would be "Principal Karen endangers class"!!!

Why does Jacobs have to be so cruel all the time I hate people like him especially what he has done before in all the past videos he should be fired and never work as a policeman ever again. Captain Porter deserves to be Chief Porter because he always cares about people in the city of Mango Park and will not tolerate any racism.

In India Amritsar , Punjab , the Sikh Golden Temple, have a free food service called langgar 24/7 every day. Approximately more than 100,000 people are fed in a day everyday. Sikh temples in India on a daily basis feed almost 800,000 people throughout India. It would be worth your while to know, how this massive undertaking is organized.
