I know the boy was trying to help his dad, and the ending was great... but the boy needs to know there are consequences for his actions. She should have him come to her restaurant every day after school for a couple of hours and do things like sweep, empty the garbage, and help clean up until he has worked off the $200 he scammed from her account. Oh and she is literally quite the opposite of a "Karen."
