They know they're a dying rotten race with no hope for the future and their existence doesn't have a purpose. Their existence is even more pathetic than the necrontyr's and that says alot. In Dark Crusade the factions will only conquer each other on hard mode, otherwise they end up in a stalemate and just rack up honour guard units. Overall it's a well balanced game but it becomes far too easy unless on hard mode, since you keep all your buildings the next time you play a territory taken. Soulstorm on normal is the equivalent of hard for Dark Crusade, with the added bonus that all the factions are woefully imbalanced, every time an enemy attacks they have 2 bases (unlike Dark Crusade where it mattered how strong the faction was, if it was 2 or 1 bases that attacked), you never keep the buildings you place from the last time you played a territory and your base is back to square one, the enemy has buildings already placed so you have to be quick or you'll get tanked, and get ready cos in a minute of starting the enemy commander and a small force will attack so place a turret down and build your commander. Add to this, on the campaign map everyone's going at it with ruthless efficiency and stalemates last about 2 seconds before the imbalance kicks in, strongholds are in danger of falling before you get there. The Imperial Guard are usually a casualty of the Sisters, who don't take their stronghold but toy with them, preventing them taking any territory at all, while chaos gets it's arse handed to it by the Dark Eldar and is in danger of losing it's stronghold every turn. I don't know how anyone could do it on hard mode, I only managed it with the Orks and that's cos you can spam Slugga Boyz after you get the research that makes them free. I just used to drown enemies' superior firepower in waves of Ork Boyz, sending them to die in droves just to earn me an extra square meter of ground, took me an hour or so just to win each territory, and even then I'd often have to fight it again cos the enemy would counter attack and I'd often be fucked cos they had 2 bases. After an hour or 2 of that and getting virtually no where you have to come off cos of the stress, or boredom, took me months to win the campaign.

Took me 4 weeks of pure pain and suffering but atleast the strongholds themselves are a joke with the guard when every major objective is withing earthshaker range of fire. The territories were just honor guard rushing the AI and spamming shit load of guardsman squads with plasma guns. Luckily enough AI decided that it was better to scrap each other off than to reconquer their territories from me

+Kemonokami Soulstorm was done by a motley crew of noobs. The game itself wasn't bad because they basically had a great game to screw up. The real atrocities were the writing, campaign design and of course, balance. Sisters > Dark Eldar > Tau > IG > Orks > Space Marines > Chaos SM > Eldar > Necrons.

The devs were actually quite competent and intended to fix many of the problems Relic had created in Winter Assault/Dark Crusade while adding much asked for units. But then Relic told them to add in flyers at the last minute (which didn't work well with the engine), slashed their budget, and moved the deadline forward so they had even less time to develop it.

Since he knows full well the Dark Eldar isn't a Force strong enough to conquer the Galaxy. So he uses his knowledge to an certain extent.

Better synopsis of Dark Eldar: The eldar thousands of years ago were powerful psykers who had grown lavish and decadent in their pleasures and greed. Because of their psyker influence over the warp, they began creating, unbeknown to them, a chaos god. Some farseers saw this and urged the race as a whole to steer away from their current lifestyle. Those who did became the craftworld eldar.

@mattsta127 No, Vect is older. Vect knew about the fall of the Eldar Empire. Asdrubael's mind psyche is a near-infinite palace of plans, counter-measures and ploys. Which has thwarted thousands of plan across the galaxy one way or another. By the time of the fall of the Eldar, Vect was gone. Asurmen did train some of the pheonix lords but, The ones who have died have been replaced, so on so fourth. But vect will never die.

When that happened, the eldars that were the current ones left in their craftworlds (basically huge ships like the Mon Calamori) to escape Slaanesh's scream (which would drive you mad). The dark Eldars hid in a space between the material wolrd and the warp, evading Slannesh and creating the city of Commorragh, a terrible city or dark and evil. They enjoy torturing people and would raid places for slaves to torture.

@S4disticJ0k3r Since there is a warp storm, communications with the "homeworlds" would be severed so any armies advancing afterward would not know which armies had attacked, except from the victors. That is why they need to attack the other armies, and thus why the Dark Eldars and Eldars were defeated if (and it is) the Imperial Guards won. And of course you couldn't win Soulstorm if all other 8 races aren't defeated.

Their 1 city base is somewhere in the webway and only the harlequins and the dark eldar know how to find it, so good luck to the imperium trying to find it, and even if they did they would all be disassembled anyways with their carcasses open to the carrion to feed.

The DE are a pretty good race. They got many powers, and they have it rough with the Chaos Marines and the Eldar. All I can say about their ending is: "Look out when you hear them roam through your village. They will strike you down with speed and shadow attacks. The Dark Eldar will drink your blood and feast upon your suffering with great delight." All fear the Dark Eldar!!!

Acording to most sources, the real existence of both Craftworld and Dark eldar comes from the fall. Before that eldar pretty much didnt need to do anything, technology did it for them and all threats had been pushed back. So things like the pleasure cults arrived. The pleasure cults did deprived sexual, sadistic and all manners of gruesome behavior for pleasure,

Probably, but the effort required to destroy the Dark Eldar might be more than the Eldar are willing to put forth. It's not clear just how large Commorragh, the city of the Dark Eldar, is, nor how many of them populate it. It might be more than any one Craftworld could handle.

Let me apologize for my tardiness. i was studying so I forgot to check my mail. The Tyranid are also attacking craftworlds. So? The Imperium has had vigor and many new crusades are launched adding new or old worlds to it. Abaddon's 13th crusade is talled. He can't attack since he does not have the full support of Chaos behind him. Next, the imperium has the space above the Cadain system. He has won a Pyrrhic victory, since the fleet can bombard his armies from orbit.

2+ invuln save is worth every part of 25 points. Read the DE wargear section and find out what a shadow field is. Not to mention the fact that if they're in melee, they can't get shot at. Again, use your speed. If your archon and wyches are not in melee first turn, you fail.

Well according to their lore they are far more numerous than all of their craftworld cousins together. Comorragh's true size is unknown, and they have technology to even regenerate from just a dead body part. Also most of them are created in labs with fast growing tech, although they still don't bred as fast as humans. But they have waay more replaceable troops than the craftworld Eldar. Of course when this game was out the new codex and fluff didn't even exist so you might have a point.

People keep saying that the Dark Eldar are the Eldar who went bad. Actually its the Craftworld Eldar and Exodites who went good. The Dark Eldar are just those who kept being naughty after Slaanesh ate most of their souls. Most of these were aristocrats pleasuring themselves in their webway palaces at the time.

The Dark Eldar were in no way shape or form related to the Craftworld Eldar or the Exodite Eldar, other than that they are all Eldar. The Craftworlds were vast trading vessels that managed to escape the Eye, the Exodites had already left, and the Dark Eldar were the survivors of those who were in the Pleasure Cults. Slaanesh, meaning pleasure, was slowly devouring the souls of those who had stayed and become corrupted while they were still alive, so they fled to the webway to avoid this.

Well in this case, let us say this: The space marines purge Kronus of Chaos forces. The Eldar stopped the Necrons, the Tau halted Gorgutz's Waaagh and crushed the IG from taking over the planet. There? Nice summery eh? Chaos leaves, Space Marines leaves, Eldar left, IG join the Tau or left, Gorgutz runs away, and the rest is history.

Dark eldar, Csm believe they are the true SM compared to what the space marine have become, Csm were not evil to begin with, horus heresy Csm believe they were fighting against the Emperor's and the Imperium's tyranny, Necrons were more or less programmed to extinguished life form and conquer star system. Killing Dark Eldars is such a joy in the eyes of the Imperium. They fall as easy as any other xenos. As stated before, try as you might to capture Imperials, but the best they can do is about creep after a crawling baby, since the might of the imperial Guards create fear in all the hearts of xenos.
