You have to realize that in the military, high ranking officers often have to make inspections to ensure everything is running in top condition. Ethereals are well respected (They united the T'au clans and stopped infighting, focusing on advancing their nations) and to have the honor of receiving one to inspect your base personally is actually what every T'au soldier wants.

Something I just noticed about these intros compared to the DoW:DC ones that really annoys me: The intros in Soulstorm all seem to lack... conviction, i think the word is? Like, the Tau here aren't sure of themselves. They MIGHT be able to stem this tide but they're not sure. The intros in DC paint a picture of an overwhelming enemy force ready to crush the player into dust. Here, it paints a picture of Achilles and paints a big red X on his heel. The Shas'O in this video talks about the perimeter defenses and how they have a few holes that are well fortified. In DC, the Tau make note of how they can strike an enemy at any time with patrolling Kroot carnivores and tau fire warriors.

@@jiado6893 Uh no, the Tau Empire has a race that are psykers, but only used to protect them while they travel (don't ask, I don't know). Their cannon is mostly a high-energy plasma cannon that is capable of obliterating any kind of life forms without damaging the structures. That is mostly because the energy projected in the blasts does not use enough force to even damage a wall, let alone a building. It merely targets the life forms because the cannon couldn't fire at it's full potency, for risks of being destroyed if used rashly.

ah this classic stronghold, playing IG before i realized you didnt need max troops and vehicles before you could start the actual fighting. i got so frustrated that they kept sending attack teams, of course i didnt do anything so like 30 minutes later i was getting attacked by multiple of their relic units. instead of going on the offensive i had a techpriest build an entire new base on the other side of the map where one of their targets used to be and kept my troops in the buildings to avoid the cannon. imagine my suprise when i steamrolled as soon as i went on the offensive.

One thing I should point out is that unlike Eldar, Tau have virtually no psychic power. Chaos barely notices them because their imprint in the warp is so small and this makes them unusually resistant to Chaos' influence. To date there have been no confirmed corrupted Tau or psychic Tau. Still, I imagine all things are possible. I believe Eldrad was the seer who saw a bright future for the Tau, that they would do what the Eldar couldn't.

It's not just another cadre, these Tau are from a different planet than the ones from Dark Crusade. The ones in Dark Crusade were from the T'au sept and these are from the Fal'shia sept. For those who don't know, "sept" is the Tau word for solar system.

I recall reading that the Emperor wanted to guide humanity into their next stage of evolution, a fully mature psychic race. If all humans could control their psychic powers as well as the Emperor, they would no longer need to fear Chaos. Or something like that? Now I'm not sure exactly what this means, but if the Emperor is the pinnacle of Mankind, maybe all of humanity is slowly evolving to become more like him. I'm not 100% sure of this, so take it with a grain of salt.

If anyone has any problems with the Tau in this being red, they are from a different Sept from the Tau in Dark Crusade. Much like Space Marine Chapters, Tau Septs have various color schemes. Eco friendly cannon ftw :D

A strange thing to note about the Tau Stronghold is that there IS some variable banter at the Start of the Mission. Perhaps the Tau Stronghold is the only Mission that has Commander Dialogue in Soulstorm, even though it is not Commander-to-Commander. When playing as the Necron Lord, he says "Get... in... there...". That alone has left me wondering what the dialogues of the other factions for this Mission are.

funny story about that, if you kick an ork into a scrap yard and come back in one month the ork will have built enough arms and munitions for an entire horde, three stompas or more, a small battle fleet and then come out of the scrap yard to kick your ass for kicking him in there. don't judge the orks by what they seem to be.

I think they do - the Kroot expressly said that while they would fight with the Tau, they would want to also be free to work a bit on the side as well. Also, the Kroot, unlike the Tau, have some kind of low-level Warp propulsion system. Ironic, really - the Tau are very high-tech in most areas.

Not exactly. The Tau Fire Caste most often use camoflage, just like the Imperial Guard, on their troops and vehicles. Warriors from the same sept can, and do, have different colour schemes based on if they are deployed in desert, jungle or urban warzones for example. There are exceptions when the warriors are instead sent wearing ceremonial or ancient tribal colours. What all of the same sept do share is the markings colour. The Tau in DC where from T'au and therefor wore white markings.

But eldar decidet to worship the darks gods, because they was bored. If Tau would survive, they will face same problem. The Tau do not possess psykers (indeed, their minds barely register in the warp at all) and as a result have little knowledge of the Immaterium beyond its existence. This gives them some level of resistance to warp-based powers effecting the mind, but it offers little, if any, protection against physically-manifested offensive powers.

Custodes are unique as, unlike the Grey Knights, they have neither a Primarch nor geneseed, they are also far stronger, quicker and more impressive than any Space Marine or Grey Knight. They stand a full head taller than a Space Marine and it's said that they were almost the same size as a Primarch
