Thanks for the run through. Bought the plugin yesterday and already love it. And just like you, I was horrified at first until I saw the "solo" switch was in. And I can't figure out where i'd use the re-mic either. But in a nutshell, this plugin turns my home recordings into a perfect illusion of studio recordings. Totally amazing! Can't wait for the "Sunset Studios" version. And the "Capitol Studios" and "Abbey Road"... ;-)

I still haven't found a use for re-mic. I'm going to spend a little time with it this week and see what situation it works well with. Love the reverb section though. And yes, Sunset, Capitol, Abbey Road versions of this would be absolutely incredible!! Thanks for checking out the video! I'm releasing another one later today on preamps. :)

Brad the encode and air functions on the dynamics section are based on DBX tape noise reduction encoding. The air version is a modified DBX encoder. Mainly used to lift high end on vocals. Trick used by Keith Olsen who produced a lot of records at Sound City. Love the channel and keep bringing new content!

Thank you, Dominic! That is extremely helpful to know! I'm actually mixing a vocal later this week so I will give the "air" a try and see how it sounds. :)

Loving this plugin. My room sound in my drum studio is not great but this plugin has greatly improved my drum sounds. Some of the presets in Re-Mic mode are really nice. Using the mixer to balance them for me removed the basketball effect you were describing. Because I have low ceilings I like using this plugin on my overheads in re-mic mode and choosing just the overhead 414s. Really cool! Thanks for the vids!

Thank you, Kyle! I'll take your suggestions and give it another go with the re-mic mode. Thanks again!

@@RecordingDrumsWithBrad off topic a bit but how do you like your WA47Jr's. I am looking to upgrade my overheads. Using some Sterling Audio pencil condensers currently.

I assumed the Re-Mic was meant for an individual "room" or similar tracks rather than the whole bus. Certainly works a lot better when using it that fashion.

With this plugin, your drum track is played in the room using virtual sources. I picture it as very ideal speakers placed in the room at the position /altitude of the drum kit. Then a rev space is formed by two components: source to mic or direct path and walls reflections. So re-mic is including the source to mic sound, while reverb mode bypass it and retains only walls / early reflections.

Thank you, appreciate your breakdown of what is happening with the two options, re-mic and reverb. Makes it a little easier to understand. :)

Great! Btw, what do you use to have a screen capture with audio from the DAW and also recording your voice?
@RecordingDrumsWithBrad
@RecordingDrumsWithBrad 7 ай бұрын
Thank you, Sturla! I capture the screen with Quick Time Player. I capture the audio of me talking with a Rode VideoMicro 2 going into my Canon T7i. Then the audio from the session inside LUNA is sent to separate DAW, Studio One Professional 3. Then I sync and edit everything using DaVinci Resolve. It's pretty involved process that took me a long time to figure out. I will do my best to do a video on how I have everything setup. In the meantime I hope the info here helps. :)

It’s similar process to the ocean way plug-in concept I prefer the reverb mode on both through an aux , the remic mode is more used on your room mic tracks to replace your room mics with emulation of the plug-in mics it’s seems on room mic track insert.Still prefer aux send in reverb mode but I have used it on dryer room tracks in remic with a distesser or 1176 after it treating it like I would for a room mic and can be useful certain situations

Thanks for the idea of using the room mic instead of the entire kit in remic mode. That totally makes sense to me. I'll be giving that a try first thing tomorrow. :)
