Want! (But don't quite need... yet...) My 633 is like the best friend that knew me since kindergarten while the 833 is the "cool new work friend".

Good video, thank you. You did leave out the whole "Optional NoiseAssist and CEDAR sdnx noise suppression plugins" thing though.

Would the Soundbag Dashboards accessory for the 633 line up with the mounting holes on the 833 as well?

Weird question, most certainly asking for a friend, but does the size of a microphone's diaphragm/coil make a difference in audio fidelity? It might be a good video idea if you have a lot to say, but I'm convinced it most certainly does.

I'm new to sound mixing, however I wonder if you have any solution for wireless monitoring. I'm working on a documentary where I'm the cameraman as well as the sound guy. I sometimes have a smaller mixer like the mixpre series mixers on me while I operate the camera. I absolutely love the sound coming from the 633, but I'm trying to figure out a solution to wireless monitoring the mixer, so I can place it somewhere in the room instead of wearing the mixer bag at all time. I'm thinking about wireless headphones perhaps. Thanks

Wired connections are generally more reliable than wireless ones and also less harmful. However, it's true that the wireless ones are more practical to be able to move easily. Also, it's best to listen and view the levels (as well as the necessary information) at the same time. Besides, if the recording can be done in 32 bits (therefore no saturation due to the recording level), that does not mean that the quality will surely be better than in "classic" recording in 24 bits (generally it's the opposite: a recording in 24 bits, in the standards, can give better results). I'm writing this just to emphasize that we can't just rely on the hardware and only the hardware. ^^ Let's come back to your case: If you have no annoying obstacles between you and the audio recorder, or annoying WiFi interference, you can use a 1.9 or 2.4 GHz wireless system: Connect the transmitter to the output of the recorder (at worst the headphone output) and connect the headphones to the receiver. Apparently, there are some who are ready to "stick" the receiver near one of the ear cups of the headset to make it more compact, but I do not recommend doing so to keep radiation away from the head as much as possible (and even away from other parts and organs). Otherwise, for better listening, you can use a UHF wireless system (Sennheiser EW100 or other) or even a dedicated wireless monitor audio system IFB (Sennheiser IEM, Comtek, etc). I hope I was able to give some useful information.

The biggest dealbreaker for me are not the channel 4-6 mic preamps.. It's the analogue limiters before AD conversion. On 633 4-6 channels clip way worse than any Zoom device. On Zoom it's kind of clipping you can repair, when on 633 it is definitely not... Same goes for 688 channels 7-12. For that reason I would switch to 8 series in a second. Only cons are power consumption of 8xx as it's heating like hell.
