Line/Pad: Functionally, the explanation is pretty much correct. This button should be pressed when inputting a "line level" signal. Typically not pressed when accepting a "mic level" signal. There should rarely be a case when this needs to be pressed when accepting a mic level signal. If this has to be pressed for a mic, something might be wrong. Or, assuming the mic can handle such a high SPL without distortions, and is getting that, that it needs to be padded to not clip the preamp on the mixer. I've used the GL2400 and ZED 436 and have never had to pad anything coming from the stage.

to sum it up a sound mixer is basically glorified equalizer thats why its not hard to use, most people hook these sound mixers to a crown amplifier and blast music

I am sorry, but line button doesn't cut anything in half, it switches between line input and xlr input on the channel
@austinwerner36227 жыл бұрын
His has a pad on it..... therefore it would cut some of the signal, I believe

X-Ray What should he be using it for? Remember, most of us have at best been using DAW's, and have no real experience with physical soundboards. I wish all the tutorials weren't in churches. These guys are not pros. Where can I find a real production level audio board video?

Certain mics are sensitive enough to be fried if you send phantom power to the wrong mic.

What does a mixer do does it make the beat
@dubnessIII8 жыл бұрын
+Caleb Allison No. It takes signal from mics, instruments, drum machine, etc. and allows the person to create a mix of those signals to send to a external device (computer, PA system, etc.). If you want something that makes a beat, you would be looking for a drum machine or keyboard that has that feature.

Simple, just don't do it. Microphones, recorders and decent speakers reproduce sound exactly. Home equipment varies far beyond any manipulation you do anyway.
