Th BEST advice on how you should battle and WIN the war with your E string struggling to get a good sound. For a long time, I discarded tunes using high notes on the E string, because I disliked the sound of if. But yes, there's hope when you do it the right way. Thanks Zlata!!! ❤👍

Very good advice for first violinists in an orchestra who seem to play in high register most of the time. Unfortunately I was never a first violinists my fingers are too big I left the high notes for the ones who could do it. Personally I was second violinist then took up the viola in my orchestra days. The trouble with orchestras you have to agree with one person the conductor I find folk music more democratic. Adam Beanstock

Playing closer to the bridge on the high notes, yes, that makes sense now. Thanks!

Thank you dear Zlata! I was wondering about this this morning. High up on my E string sounds airy or hissy

It's so funny to me how non-violinists think the hardest part of playing violin is the lack of frets. And while that is a huge challenge, bowed instruments are the only ones that require you to actually play 2 instruments simultaneously (the bow and violin) which each have different mechanical properties and separate techniques that must be executed together perfectly and interact with each other in such a dynamic way.

Is it possible to create a pianisimo sound on high notes close to this F# you demonstrated? Or will it be condemned to be mezzoforte due to the bow speed it needs to be heard? I'am asking this as a composer and a beginner violinist.
@violinlounge Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's possible, mainly by using a lower contact point, but not as whispering as for example a G string can be.
@KlaviersAnthology Жыл бұрын
@@violinlounge so tilted bow as much as possible, contact point as near to the bridge as possible and as slow bowing as it can get without making the sound creek? Do you need a better bow or strings to achieve this by not sweating?

@@KlaviersAnthology indeed! Good strings and a good bow always help!

I don't understand why... my sound is irregular on the high notes of the E string... I have a sound of rubbing or whistling... Do you have any advice, I think I'm doing well, flat wick, speed, not too much weight, contact point but the sound is blah. Thank you:)
@violinlounge6 ай бұрын
I can't give a straight answer, certainly not without seeing you play, but it's really a matter of experimenting with the proportions and maybe trying out different E strings.
@henromichikun95886 ай бұрын
@@violinlounge I found it.. at least it helps me a lot to have the wick flat on the E string and also focus on the point of contact, :) it's much better... the problem is that I have to work on the flat wick, it suits me better, but I have to correct a bad habit that I have taken X) but we are getting closer and cleaner on the high positions:) Thank you for your answer.
