+joversc that's from Crushing Grief (No Remedy). It's a pretty simple fill, it just sounds complicated! I'm pretty sure the notes are just 16th notes and it starts on beat one: KKRLRLKKRLRLKKB (the B stands for both hands). This is a pretty common fill. Mike Portnoy uses it all time with Dream Theater and The Winery Dogs!

i dont understand drummers who use double pedal to do a simple double stroke on a punk beat (or anything else) on top of using quarter notes on the hi hat instead of 8th notes

I can only assume it's because he's probably still working on it and doesn't feel comfortable enough playing it live! I know a few people who do that, including myself. It's a mixture of being impatient, but not wanting to risk throwing everything out of time. If that makes any sense at all, I apologize if not, man!

Haha alright I understand but really, you gotta learn those double strokes with your foot man. The quarter notes on hi hat I can understand a bit more but even that gets annoying too for some reason lol I just think it can make a drummer a lot better and improve his/her skills resulting in his/her ability to play without struggling

Nathan Holden I don't quite agree. Dani is a really tight and talented drummer, and I think the double-pedal-bravado works well for Neck Deep's sound. There really is no "right" or "wrong" way to play drums and in a lot of hardcore/pop-punk music, playing double-strokes during d-beats is pretty much the norm. I see where you're coming from though, and I imagine that a lot of punk-rock purists who are fairly new to this music will scoff at the use of double-bass. But hey, everyone's different :)

Yeah definitely lol by the way I'm sure he's a good drummer, I think its just because I'm so used to watching punk beats be done on a single pedal by erik sanding or travis barker haha
