I was watching an older Sounds like from like two years ago and came across a very good comment idea. It is as the guy in that comment said a long shot but why not bring in a guitarist (famous or semi famous) and let them create a rig to match their sound on a budget of 1500$, or just let them find a sound they would use for under 1500$. Seeing as a lot of famous guitarists has near unlimited budget it would be fun to see what they would do with a very limited budget to get a sound they like. You of course help find the gear in the store and give tips. It can become kind of like a top gear thing, formula one drivers trying to get the best time in that "Reasonably Priced Car".

Doesn't Morello use the 2205 Dual channel 800? You're nailing the tones with the single channel reissue don't get me wrong but the 2205 twin channel uses diode clipping which does sound slightly different. Nailing it with that set up tho! Oh and would absolutely love to see a sound like Alex Lifeson BY busting the bank 😏

It's only the boost channel which uses diode clipping. The "clean" channel on the 2205/2210 sounds pretty similar to the single channel JCM800's.

I like to imagine a Sound like The Clash. -Joe Obviously a Fender Mex Telecaster with rosewood or pau ferro :( fretboard. His main amp since 1979 was a Musicman HD 150, but he recorded the first and second albums with a Twin Reverb and also tried to get that kind of sound with his new Musicman amp. We can even see a Fender amp on some live pictures after 1980. Maybe you could get a Fender Mustang, if want to spend more money, get a Fender blues Junior is a good one. -Mick Mick used Les Pauls as we all know, a Les Paul Jr at the early days, a Standard to record the second album and some Custom models for the rest of The Clash years. I think the best choice for a Sound Like is the Epiphone Les Paul Standard, not so dark as a Custom and not so P90's as another guitar. Plus Top Pro, Tribute... I don't care which one. For amp, Mick chosed a Mesa Boogie Mark II through Marshall cabinets for most of his career with The Clash. But, for not busting the bank, our dear Marshall DSL40 is the perfect option. You also need a flanger, a delay and maybe a Ibanez Tube Screamer. That's all my stuff
