@@gotem123 considering the story from NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024, I guess Yoko Taro choose that good ending to continue his story. Knowing Yoko Taro, he might continue to play with our suffering.

I was about to fight Eve, when I heard this . . . I reflected on everything that had happened thus far. I thought of what lead up to this point. I felt sad, and felt what Eve felt- pain. I tried putting myself in Eve's shoes for when Adam got killed by 2B. I felt so bad for doing it, even though it's part of the story. So, when I went to meet Eve before his boss battle as 2B, I slowly approached him and stood there as I looked at him for 5 minutes while this song played. I saw how he was just patiently waiting for his revenge, despite of angry he was at the moment, he was containing himself. I found that very painful. It's like he was reflecting what events lead up to that point, and if it was his fault or not that Adam died. But blinded by his anger, he could only proceed to revenge.

I hear ya but imo those two were kinda evil and self-centered. They justified the genocide of the aliens, their creators, by saying that the machines were just superior. They also wanted to disect humanity just to satiate their curiosity. I connect this music more with 2B and 9S and the tragedy that was their existence. They were created to fight in an eternal war, for a species (humanity) they never saw but were programmed to adore and die for. 2B sacrificed her dreams and tried to hide her feelings for 9S which was a huge burden on her psychi. They were more human and noble than we realize. To sacrifice their dreams and hopes so that the symbol that is YoRHa, the symbol of hope, can stay strong. They didn't fight for power, money or personal gain, they fought for us and just hoped that they may survive all of this to enjoy their time together in times of peace. When 2B fell i sensed that she was kinda happy that her time has come. She knew only war, a war that forced her to keep her feelings a secret and at the same time i felt sadness as well, that she never told 9S about her feelings, that they never will spent that time together after the war. From comments i got the impression that the writer Yoko Taro doesn't like characters that get a happy ending through violence. I think that 2B and 9S being selfless and ready to stretch a hand to Pascal to end this war and make peace was what made Taro give them a second chance.

@@Shadowhunterbg I'm still pretty new to the game, and I guess I see what you mean. But I still, somehow, feel bad for every character in this game whether protagonist or antagonist. I just connected the song more to Eve, since it started playing when he started going on a rampage before his boss fight. I mean, for what I saw- he really did cared for Adam despite of Adam not caring for Eve just like Eve did. Hopefully I'll get to finish the game soon and get the full experience from all sides. :)

@@PitDarkPitPittooSkyworldDuo I absolutely understand what you mean. The whole world despite not being dead and have the potential to become something, is very nihilistic themed. Both sides are basically the last trace of their creators, left on Earth, fighting an endless war and for what? For no one. The only thing that changes is the pile of bodies that keep growing and the feeling of loss. The music is especially very good. Sad, heavy and beautiful. And if you see something while the music plays the right tune, it makes you think, it makes you build up the characters in your head because you know what they love and how they would feel at the given situation. Just like you did and i in many ocasions. Something as simple as Eve sitting at the top of that ruin, patiently waiting for you, makes you sympathise. We knew that they are capable of hatred and cruelty but seeing him grieve, we learn that they feel much much more than just negative emotions.

@@Shadowhunterbg No, your story is incorrect the P33-robot which the machines met and viewed as God caused them to rebel again the aliens as the P33 robot from Nier gave the machines the Gift of intelligence. "They also wanted to disect humanity just to satiate their curiosity." No, Humanity were already extinct due to the WCS and the second coming of the kingdom from Drakengard which forced humans to either choose God and kill humanity who were against God or turn to salt and the failure of the Replicant and Gesalt program but this happened way before the aliens came to Earth. Similar to how Pascal was enlighten in the anime.

@@Shadowhunterbg I totally agree. 2B was in a lot of pain and it was strongly visible in 3 moments: when she saw what Adam did to 9S, when she defeated Eve and thought she lost 9S after all (and gave us hint that she was not exacly a person she claims to be, as she is no Battler, by saing that "it always ends like this" - so she killed 9S many more times than this one and it was ALWASY SO PAINFUL for her) and when she blissfully meet her end. In that last moments she was so at peace that it was... Like she yearned for it for so long... And finally foubd that peace. Like she wanted to sa to 9S when she turned to him: "Oh.. 9S. I will finally stop to killing you. Again... And again. I love you." And yet it's so pained me when she said that "feelings are prohibited". She literally lied to herself, trying to shield herself from all that hurt her so so much. She was destroyed first seconds we meet her.
