Beautiful. A masterpiece. I'm curious what the story behind Radio Man's announcement is. It sounds too good quality to be really old, but it has such a '40s-'50s-'60s feel to it! (Also I think there no longer *is* an All-Union radio.) Is it fiction, or from an actual historic broadcast?

Taken from a live broadcast by Vladimir Semyonovich Vysotsky in the 60's/70's. I don't know what year though. He was a soviet singer and later worked in radio. He was heavily influenced by his grandmother from an early age. She worked in theater. He actually references her in this broadcast. "We love our work. I really want to say a big thank you to my elders, thanks to whom I have this great responsibility. Much luck." My Russian is only at B1 level so I'm sure someone can give a better translation. Edit: This might actually be Yuri Levitan. I'm unsure now. SORRY!

News from the fronts of the Great Patriotic War is inextricably linked with the name of Yuri Levitan. In June 1941, the legendary announcer read a message about the beginning of the war, and it was he who announced on air the unconditional surrender of Germany. At the age of 17, Yuri Levitan came to the radio. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqSTepWXib14ha8si=eYBig1mBdzPOU9fX

Who is the voice on the radio? And what he says?...

Famous and legendary Soviet radioman - Yuri Borisovich Levitan: I can’t believe that now, after many years, I have been entrusted with great and great happiness - to work at the microphone of the all-Union radio. Our work is work that brings great joy and great happiness, and I want to say a big thank you to my senior comrades, to whom I owe the fact that I began to work and read responsible programs. The Motherland instructed us to talk to millions of people, I am happy.
