I’m biased for the Bose Ultras for comfort and ANC, but I like the warmth of Sonys, and the clarity and separation of the M4s. The Bose sounds like it falls in between the Sony and M4s.

I just got the Bose QC Ultra, and I found the Bose to sound slightly better than the Sennheiser momentum 4. mainly because the Sennheiser momentum 4 sounds slightly hollow when it comes to the mids. It's not warm at all, and the sound stage is slightly better on the Bose.

Update, the Sennheiser momentum 4 got a firmware update to upgrade the sound quality so the mids are no longer lacking. The soundstage is very impressive on the momentum 4 and the mids are so damn good and music gives me chills. So they do sound much better than the momentum 4 now.

If ever you get the XM5s, dont get the black one. It's a big grease magnet on all sides. I have to keep on wiping them finger marks. Lol. But the sound quality is insane though

Rather than 70% volume setting match measured SPL match would have been even better (if possible to set up). Since that Momentum 4 with it's exponentially leaning volume control is a little quieter than the others at 70% still, you might get a wrong impression of it's strong capability.

i just recently got the sennheiser mtw4 headphones and how do they compare to other higher end headphones ~is it the mm drivers which makes it pretty much everything?

Clear and bright sound is on AirPods Max but I feel it’s weight and feel uncomfortable after hours of on usage and it is also pricier. Handy control buttons and crown for music control, having no touch controls is advantage. Works perfectly with Apple products. Second option is for is Bose ultra with immersive audio on. Sound quality is second best and even better with bass music. Third choice is Senheiser Momentum 4 with good sound quality which puts Sony xm 5 as fourth in this list.

Not an audiophile but a casual gamer, so far I tried 3 of them last week, here's my inner thoughts as I tested them: 1- Bose QC Ultra (trembling shakes, a private concert!) 2- Airpods Max (wow so there is a difference, very crisp) 3- XM5 and XM4 (not much sound difference compared to $150 gaming headsets, bass sounded muddy even with eq, the overall volume sounded too low as well, comparing to Logitech G Pro and HyperX Cloud Revolver, I didn't feel satisfied, not worth the switch, I will get buyers remorse definitely). The momentum 4 unit was unavailable for testing so I can't draw a conclusion on it, I may me biased to BOSE as I have it in my Mazda 3 and it sounds phenomenal, the bass just begins to rattle the windows at as low as 25 volume with some eq boost and the sound clarity is satisfying, I can listen to the lyrics unmuffled, the QC Ultra carries greater signatures of that but also turns it into a private moment detaching you from your surroundings, the Airpods Max was able to do that to some degree as well but the Bose QC Ultra now transcends as my dimensional audio butler, a valet to my escape portal, conducting a symphony of silence where sound reigns supreme....if I can just afford it lol.

Possibly because he only owns an iPhone. KZbin compresses audio either way, so the codec won't matter that much. The main point of this is to show the user's the sound signature and sound quality.

Bought A Momentum 4 and i have no regret. Check your ears. AirPods are definitely the worst for my ears. Sure, it's balanced and clear, but bass is mediocre, soundstage is trash, and clarity is mid at best. Momentum is easily the best here, I would say the best out of the flagship consumer headphones, even somewhat comparable to the audiophile 660HS. Bose 2nd in this comparison, and xm5's and airpods are about equal, both have their upsides and downsides.

I bought the bose and for me the immesive audio was useless. I returned them to amazon just for one reason: sound volume. Bose is known for their low volume on their headphones. It's the same story this times. :( Honestly i must admit that the sound quality is impressive, good amount of bass (yeahhh bose give us bass guys haha). But like i said,not enough volume

Nah, the Bose has them beat now. The mids are better on the Bose QC Ultra. The Bose QC Ultra has better instrument separation while the Sennheiser has more bass. I don't like how hollow the Sennheiser momentum 4 sound. They are missing something in the mids so they don't sound good with all genres of music. The ANC on the Bose is also a bit stronger while having no cabin pressure.

Momentum 4 beats all of them. Bose ultras are high on treble and don’t sound good. M4s however are poetry. Def buying m4 now.
