I have always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest. Your videos are a great reminder for me to try to make that happen!

So cool they opened a second line of light rail in Seattle, they should had put turnstiles, i will have to check out Bellevue if i ever visit again. I like the timelapse in the outro.
@pnwpaths29257 ай бұрын
Yeah I’m a little disappointed they didn’t secure the line but the Bellevue Police created a team for the light rail and will have a much needed presence for their system. 2025 it will connect into Seattle and downtown Redmond. It’s going to be a big change for the region. Thanks for checking it out. Love the Timelapse’s this pocket 3 gets!

On the pedestrian crossing at Redmond Technology, those exist on a bunch of lightrail systems, usually the train beeps a bunch for horns and wait for people to move out the way
@pnwpaths29257 ай бұрын
Yeah they have quite a few of these kinds of areas in the Seattle area as well. Had quite a few pedestrians hit and even killed. It feels like an easy solution to make it a bit safer. Thanks for watching!

1:57 never expected to hear a snippet of LE SSERAFIM in a transit video. The song is called “Perfect Night”

Yeah will have to do another one when it connects to Seattle and downtown Redmond!

The random security checks should be more common. I know they do it, where they sweep a car verifying that everyone paid, but it is so rare that it doesn't stop people from not paying.
@pnwpaths29257 ай бұрын
I agree. Unfortunately you can refuse to show id to the fare ambassadors and their abilities are pretty limited. Riding the 1 line quite often, I have only seen a sweep of a car for fares,one time. They put the average for faire evasion at around 50%. To me securing the line, limits fare evasion and lessens crime. For now this line will be servicing tech workers on the Eastside but when it opens to Seattle, it will be interesting to see what happens. Thanks for watching!

@@pnwpaths2925 It might depend on when you ride. In the midday on the 1 Line it's been surprisingly common lately for me (probably about 10% of my trips, which are only 2-3 stops).
@pnwpaths29257 ай бұрын
@@AmbientMorality the more the better. Still hasn’t changed the rampant drug use and crime issues. Securing the line is the easiest way to reduce crime in general. When they connect the 2 line to Seattle, I bet we see the same issues. Hopefully Bellevue demands better.

@@pnwpaths2925Like fare gates or turnstiles? I never understood why those weren't installed from the start. Your concerns are definitely valid and I might partially just have a higher tolerance, but I do really like Link even though there's room for improvement. I don't miss the panhandlers on literally every other train ride in Chicago, and they even had turnstiles over there!
@pnwpaths29257 ай бұрын
@@AmbientMorality yeah turnstiles and gates would be huge. Then just have security for the higher crime areas. Also no more allowing the homeless to ride up and down the line and never get off. Last time I rode it. I had to help with a homeless drug addict that had overdosed. His pants were around his ankles (inculcating underwear), smelled horrible and was in really bad shape. It was a mess. Security and transit staff didn’t even have narcan… it was a mess

Reality: ENTERING BELLEVUE DOWNTOWN 2 LINE EXIT: RIGHT Expectation: ENTERING BELLEVUE DOWNTOWN STATION DOORS: RIGHT
@pnwpaths29257 ай бұрын
Are you referring to them saying which doors to exit/enter? It can be a little confusing since the seats sit backwards and forwards. So if the train is heading South, it’s directed as if you’re looking forward. Same as if it’s heading North.
