Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD Overview

I've installed both the Titanium HD and the SB-Z and played each from the same PC setup and hands down the TiHD is by far the superior sound device both with its original drivers (with the DTS pack) and also with the Z's drivers (which removes the DTS pack). The TIHD is a chilling device at least in my env. with Klipsch --62 II fronts and center and advent rears through a Sony STR-DN1050 AVR. The difference is both obvious and immediate. Tweaking the nobs makes little difference to the TiHD's dominance over the SB-Z.

I am having problem to connect this sound card to Altec Lansing ADA885, only manage a 2.1, when try on 5.1, no speeches in movies or is very blur. any advice?

Were your speakers connected via RCA also? RCA to RCA? My RCA soundcard to RCA speakers port doesn't seem to work anymore, just stopped working the other day. Now I can only used 3.5mm from soundcard to RCA on Headphones/Speakers for it to work.

G'day mate. Does this Sound Card come with a frequency Crossover? I have the Audigy 2 ZS(Very old I know) which has this option and allows me to tune in on the lower frequencies on the sub and stop any low end coming into the mid range speakers. Allowing me to turn the speakers up very high and have nice tight pronounced bass. I'm looking for an upgrade that has this option

In the Creative Console software under the EQ, there are sliders for Bass Boost from +0 to +12db and Cutoff Frequency from 10 to 200Hz.

this is the best hardware I have purchased for my pc, even more than a SSD!, Note that you will need a decent pair of headphones or speakers to get the most out of it (p.s AD700s FTW). I didnt even see that on mine @ 1:40

@AmH032uTuBe No doubt it is a nice card but is no where near the Essence in terms of SNR. The Essence features a very high quality DAC which converts signals at 127 SNR(124 Front out) The Essence also features a headphone amp(117)rated to 600 ohms and 0.001% distortion meaning you won't need an external amp. I would consider this card in audiophile territory. The X-Fi is a very nice gaming card with advantages in positional audio. You wouldn't be disappointed to own one for all round listening.

If your speakers have an optical in, you can connect a mini toslink to toslink from soundcard to speakers, respectively. If none, you will need to have an AV receiver I supposed.

Not sure why, but the Beats Pros sound much better on this sound card, as do the Bose. I have tried headphones like Ultrasones and even Sennheisers and they sound bad on it, I'm thinking this card was made for bad cans like Beats.

@AmH032uTuBe This is not an "Audiophile card". Anything over 110SNR is considered excellent and this card is rated @109dB. It is a gaming card to go with the Corsair Gaming speakers which are of quality to fit their intended purpose, Gaming. It has some nice positional effects which are useful in such scenarios but no "audiophile would use them for listening to music especially effects like "Crystalizer" and "Xtreme Fidelity" as you wouldn't be listening to compressed rubbish in the first place.

hahaha seriously. my dad got me it for me. from his office. i hated it it. so i sold it, and it sold for a very good price,cause it was mac plus as for me it was for free. then with that money and chipped some in and build my rig. i have 2 Quad-SLI 690. i3770k. and it chew on any game and asks for more when i throw at it. plus im an industrial design student. so i use AutoCAD. mac use to lag as hell. not this one.
