今は機材も個人の技術も昔より向上しているだろうけど未だに20年前のkentaroのルーティーンに勝てるものが少ない kentaroは上手いのは勿論だけどテクニック面抜きにしても単純に出てる音や流れの組み立て等がカッコいいと感じる人は多いと思う むしろ上手さよりその音楽センスにカッコ良さを感じる DJにとって大事な部分だと思う スクラッチがめちゃくちゃ上手い人は多くてもそういうDJは意外と少ない

It's visible on the record. You can see where tracks begin and by the gaps between them that have no ridges. He has a record with loops of stuff and is dropping into a section probably 1-2 cm wide. Still extremely difficult to pull off well in a pressure packed situation like a battle in front of thousands. It's a brilliant and famous routine so I'm not diminishing how great it is, just explaining how he does it. DJ Swamp used this approach before him, Craze as well. Kentaro came up with a super creative way to do it in that first routine in this vid that came from his '01 DMC.
