I'm not confused or baffled by your videos. You can tell by doing just the way said. For my Motion Boom i tend to keep that 150hz slider at least 2-3 notches below the 80hz one, just sounds better that way cause deep bass is just more satisfying to listen to. If you really want a fun sound just max out the 80hz slider and v-shape it but for "regular" listening, Alan's EQ sounds really really good. I've been trying out the D8 cause the 50W louder sound seemed interesting but comparing it to the Boom it just sounds like a tin can. Bare in mind i have the full black version, not sure if it's tuned differently than the green model but it's compressed, sounds muffled at times, no rumble, no satisfying bass that you can feel, heck i can't feel the bass at all while listening to it. I brought both of them at a small party and when i pushed the D8's volume to near max after listening to the Motion Boom my friends and i made that "disgust" face and told me to use the Motion Boom back cause the sound was so screechy and unsatisfying to listen to, it just hurts man. One of them even told me "it's just loud to be loud" and i have to agree it just sounds like a hot mess. The bass was non-existant and it sounds really harsh when pushed up whereas the Motion Boom can still retain that bass and you can balance it out with the app at louder volumes. I'm glad the D8 only cost me 50 bucks cause it's a pretty mediocre speaker but it can sound nice with no-vocals music or if you don't get the Motion Boom to A/B compare it with you shouldn't be that disappointed. After watching so many reviews about the D8 (and the D9) i can't see the appeal of it, i honestly tried, tried and tried using the dolby equalizer, push up the bass and just try to get a proper sound out of it but i just can't. The extra rumble, soundstage and low deep bass of the Motion Boom is where it's at. My opinion might be biased cause I had the Motion Boom before getting the D8 so maybe we just didn't have anything better for the price before but now that the Boom is here and i can A/B compare them, in my honest opinion, forget the W-Kings and get the Motion Boom. The fact that you can tune the sound with Soundcore's app is a game changer cause it will sound really good with anything. I rediscovered my whole music library cause that deep bass adds an extra satisfying layer to the music. It sounds fuller, hi-fi-ish and with the proper EQ it can go just as loud as the "50W" D8 and retain a better sound. As Alan said, just cause the D8 and D9 go "louder" doesn't mean it's the best choice here cause trust me you'll want to turn them down once your ears start hurting from listening to that loud mess. Granted the D9 might be at it's best when it's at max volume but that's the only thing it can do. It is very hard to describe, make you feel and listen how the rumble and soundstage is like with the Motion Boom cause when you A/B it with a recording vs the D8, the upper bass sounds bigger and boomier on sound but in reality you can't feel the overall roundness, rumble and shake of the room of the Motion Boom since it goes so low. Also obligatory, JBL Xtreme 3 is poop rant. Thanks for the review and comparison Alan :D TL;DR: Get the Motion Boom

My main selling point about the Soundcore 3 compared to the Maxsound Plus is that it's in the Souncore App ecosystem so you could probably adjust the EQ and make custom profiles which is the best selling point in my opinion with Soundcore cause the headroom is usually great and thus you can really get the sound you want.
@_-Z-4 жыл бұрын
@KrazyShark94 I might just take a chance on the Soundcore 3, then. I know it's supposedly only 16watt vs 24 for the Maxsound plus but it's also a much newer speaker and has Bluetooth 5.0 vs the 4.2 on the Maxound, and lighter as well. Like you said, the Soundcore app is killer. I also have a motion plus as well as boom but want something between that and what would be considered a mini speaker just for easier portability but still with a balanced sound at a reasonable price ($50 or less). The only other negative I know of about the Soundcore 3 is that it doesn't have an aux in whereas the Maxsound does but that isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me. Thanks for your reply BTW.
@KrazyShark4 жыл бұрын
@@_-Z- Ohh you already have the Motion Plus and Boom. I would definitely stay with Soundcore then. Maybe the 3 is what you're looking for. I also heard good things about the Soundcore Boost but it's more than 50 bucks currently on Amazon Europe. Don't get me wrong the Maxsound Plus is a great speaker but it sounded very flat and the soundstage is not as big compared to the Motion Plus. You could also dig into Soundcore's Flare series, heard good things with them. I didn't know they removed the jack on the Soundcore 3, i really hope they don't ditch it forever cause I would have used my Boom on my PC too cause the added low bass for games is amazing. Good luck with the search :D Cheers

Now that - is a review! The viewer can agree, (which I do completely) or disagree but you support your conclusions with DATA not just and A-B test; which is pretty subjective especially given most viewers are listening on a small speaker. I just purchased the D9. I was disappointed at how thin the bass is and exactly to your point - it just is not musical. (My old audio system was bi-wired Totem Acoustic Winds for towers with a B & W ASW 4000 sub so I am no stranger to musicality). I've decided to return the W-King D9 and aI m going to try the Soundcore Motion Boom. They're within a couple dollars of one another here in Canada. Great review. I particularly enjoyed the data. What are you using for an RTA? AudioControl? Oh yeah, I subbed, liked and sent to a friend who just bought a JBL. (Back in the day - we used to joke around the AV Shop that JBL stood for Junk, But Loud. But SONY was Soon, Only Not Yet and JVC was Junk Very Cheap, also No Highs, No Lows, Must be Bose!... just about every manufacturer who put marketing ahead of sound quality got tagged!)
@alanrossreviews3 жыл бұрын
Ha! You left out soundcore! Not as easy as jbl or jvc 😊 tx for sub. Rew and a measurement mic, audio control would be overkill for my current use/needs.

Maybe a stupid question: how can we even compare 30WATTS (Motion Boom) with 60WATTS (W-King)? That means in terms of loudness the W-King should be 2 times louder, no?
@alanrossreviews Жыл бұрын
🤦♀ so much wrong with your short comment its hard to respond 😂. all things being equal 60 watts is 3db louder than 30watts but twice as loud would be apx 10db louder. loudness is not a measure of watts alone though, many factors involved notably driver surface area, amount of bass produced, the sensitivity of the speaker and even the definition of loudness, its measurement and its weighting. this is one for the forums if you are really interested in the answer.
@actattacktheater Жыл бұрын

in my opinion Soundcore Boom is amazing. Wking, unfortunately, always sounded somehow strange, despite the very high volume, which no longer gives a pleasant sound. You can tell me how this speaker sounds at 10-20%, because I'm looking for a speaker that can play lower than 80hz, but I won't listen to it loud. I do not count on the tribit stormbox pro, after I saw their price ... 150 euros ...
@KrazyShark4 жыл бұрын
Same here, my W-King D8 when A/B testing it with my Boom just sounds awfully wrong. It's like missing whole layers, especially in the low bass / soundstage. The Boom retains great sound quality at all volumes, especially since you can use the Soundcore App to equalize it. I tend to max highs at low volumes cause it's a bit boomy, but then max low frequencies at full volume to keep the bass balanced. The D8 sounds very muffled and bass heavy below 50%, then sweet spot before hitting 80% where it becomes extremely harsh with the mids and highs. You could also get the Soundcore Motion+ that i absolutely loved when i got it a few months before but i really miss the deep bass when i listen to it despite the really detailed sound.
@xXadambXx4 жыл бұрын
@@KrazyShark Now I use tribit maxsound plus mostly on 25-50% volume, but I miss deep bass, so maybe I don't need tweeters in low volume but I need this deepness. IF tribit now show his new speaker i think i will buy soundcore boom (I don't like design, but I think love sound, something like my auris xD I don't like much design, but this car never disappointed me)
@KrazyShark4 жыл бұрын
@@xXadambXx Ohh you have the Tribit Maxsound Plus too, you don't really need the Soundcore Motion+ then, it's a nice small speaker. Definitely get the Motion Boom then, you'll get this nice open soundstage with a layer of tasty deep, low bass added to your music. The only thing i'm sad about the Boom is that it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack input so i can't use it for my computer because of the sound delay. I see a lot of people not liking the design and i can see why but the handle just makes me want to carry it around everywhere and the boombox look with the exposed passive radiators on the sides and speaker grill is what makes it for me. Just like the Auris, the design is maybe not the best but for the price you can't beat the performance :D
