Great revue Dustin - very thorough. I bought these purely for sleeping (I’m weird that way. I have earbuds for working out, earbuds for phone calls and earbuds for music 😂). I’ve tried 6 other earbuds for sleeping at night. (My mind races at night, makes it tough to fall asleep.) Regardless, all of the others really hurt my ears) I received my Sleep A20’s about 2 weeks ago and in my opinion, they are a godsend!! Sleeping like a baby.

I got them on Kickstarter and I found them too big and painful. I'm a side sleeper and I use a supportive memory foam pillow. What really helped and made them actually useable is to remove the wings completely and to use the XS tips. They still stay in my ears all night, but they're significantly less bulky and not as painful. With traditional earbuds I use medium tips.
@DustinAbbottTWI6 ай бұрын
That's interesting. I'm shocked you found them big, as they are the smallest earbuds I've ever seen.

I’m used to the excellent ANC on the AirPod pro 2nd gen and found that these earbuds really don’t block sound at all, even while playing noise at a volume I could still sleep with. I could still hear everything and I felt the app was actually very confusing and lacking, despite all the reviews I’ve seen saying the opposite. I wish there was a sleep bud with great ANC like my AirPods that could last a whole night without dying and beeping obnoxiously to let me know they’re dead. I will say though, these A20’s are incredibly comfortable.
@DustinAbbottTWI5 ай бұрын

@ I have worn them while sleeping numerous times, including with my ear against the pillow. They fit well for me and they sound great. The only negative I would say is that they don’t have active noise canceling, so that could be an issue depending on your ambient environment. I haven’t tried them on a plane yet.

I have been using them for approximately 3 weeks now and I absolutely love them. I agree with your thoughts on the tapping issue but that’s because they are so small that it’s hard to find them to tap on. I love the fact that in the sleep mode, you’re playing a loop sound that is transferred to the buds and not connected to blue tooth. Your phone is not required to be connected.

Wow, i have the samsung ear buds pro 2 as they came free with my s24 ultra. I ended up going back to my anker p20i earbuds because they are so much more comfortable. Im really interested in these as i work nights and struggle to sleep in the day, especially during summer with people doing their lawns etc. I can genuinely say ive never had a anker product i didnt like, speakers, charge cables, battery banks and ear buds, all very good.
@DustinAbbottTWI6 ай бұрын
Agreed. I've been really pleased with Anker products as well.
@iamtheiceman6 ай бұрын
A bit expensive in non-usa countries, unfortunately - but hopefully the price drops with time. Also - too bad it does not do (active) noise cancelling - instead of just using sound masking techniques. If you are a light sleeper, and someone is snoring like a dinosaur in the same room - you need (real) noise reduction if you are ever going to get to sleep. I would love to see a real-world test of these, to see how much they perform in the presence of an (actual, loud snoring person). I am not sure what other options are out there at this price point - for ANC. These look like they fit well, and are comfortable for sleeping. If only they did actual noise cancelling - they would be perfect.
@DustinAbbottTWI6 ай бұрын
That's good feedback. I've used them when my wife is snoring, and they definitely do help (though don't block out snoring completely).

Thanks for the review @Dustin. I suffer from similar issues, and am extremely sound sensitive. I’ve been using some inexpensive small buds which are ok, but they agitate a bit and do fall out. I’m tempted by these but they’re a bit on the expensive side so far. Let’s see if there’s a holiday sale or I give in first.

I was thinking that it’s ANC, but it’s not, like 90% of the brands. So for real snoring it’s useless (even with ANC it does not work for low frequencies so without it…). Nice review though ;)

Thank you. Good review. I’m wondering if you think it’s fair to knock them for not staying perfectly still while running…….after all, that isn’t what they are designed for. Since they are sleep buds, it sounded as if your review would have been more positive, if you had stuck to the purpose for which they were designed. The extra info is fine, but I doubt anyone is buying these for running or mowing the grass. Just a thought.

Sorry for my poor English, I’m now using A20, I think no ANC is this product fail, maybe battery life? If you want true quiet to sleep I suggest AirPods Pro 2 is the best (but battery life just 5 hour,haha)
@DustinAbbottTWI6 ай бұрын
5 hours is just not acceptable for this application, and Airpods stick out too much for side sleepers. The battery life here is amazing - up to 14 hours.
@Atomic-Purple-Guy4 ай бұрын
I think the reason they don't have ANC is because they are so tiny it's hard to incorporate it. They are also supposed to plug your ears like ear plugs. Maybe try getting a tighter fit.
