That's my mom's orchestra - she is Lorraine Page (Page, being a stage name)! An interesting bit of trivia is that she was married to Ken Curtis (she may have been married to him at the time). They met while she was on contract - I believe at Universal Studios. He ultimately left my mom to marry Barbara Ford, John Ford's daughter. I haven't found online references to her marriage to Ken Curtis, but I've seen magazine articles from the 40's showing them as a married couple.

Small world...Ken Curtis starred in ithe film "Lone Star Midnight",which my mom's group, The Smart Set ,had a scene. They performed in the barn dance scene... Great old film! There have to be some more connections in common... My father was trumpet player Red Borland, who played with a number of the big name big bands! Ever hear of him? Thanks for writing, love to hear from you again if you think of anything...

Very interesting! I think the film you are referring to is "Lone Star Moonlight" which my mom had an uncredited appearance as a member of "The Rhythm Cowgirls". I'm sure she knew your father as my mom was primarily a trumpet player. I don't play anymore, but I still have her original 1930 Selmer trumpet!

Awesome film! Great harmonizing! One thing, though... it seems like the sound was dubbed onto the film later, because there are things like how when the female singer sings 'without you dear, don't know what I'd do,' it doesn't synchronize. Also, there are times when I see the violins playing, but I don't hear them at all.
