Hay Arman, may I suggest a topic for a future video? It's something I've been trying to find for a while, but can't find anyone talking about it, at least on KZbin. The topic I suggest is about tension progression during a dj set. Sometimes DJs use very "cold" tracks after a very "hot" part to release tension, people rejoice. The question is, how to release tension properly, after the resolution of a long tension build-up - and how to build tension of course. For how long to build tension? for how long to release tension? What harmonies work better to release tension (perhaps how to find the best cold tonality to shift from the tonality we're coming from)? How many tension releases would be expected in a 1h techno set? Most people just talk about amazing drops but often the crowd cheers most when the tension is completely dropped. No set is good if it's always banging. Navigating the dynamics / tension during the set, creating contrasts of tension / temperature is what keeps people hooked. No one talks about this, unless I'm not finding it but I doubt, I tried all the search terms I could think of. Would be great if you could post your take on the matter. Thanks!

hey arman, greetings from Vienna, what i would mention to the newcomer is to break the boundries of genere, in order to be able to understand what is that blending means and how to train your ear to detect better the elements what are building a track take some '90s music mix it ( at least try) go on other genere, mix it see how it is, the mai problem this days is that you have acces to too much much what need a basis in your head, I realy appreciate your help Arman to the comunity u bring! by the time i started deejay-ing it was when CDJ 400 were the hype :D.... have a good day man! and keep up with the good work!

Mate, I'm like Lerooooy Jenkins when it comes to my mixes. This is one of the best level changing tips I've seen for me personally. I've had some chance moments, which have stood out, but this is the first time I've heard someone analyse exactly that synergy that is going on with a great transition.

Nice mixing, but how was your right deck playing when your cross fader was all the way to the left? Something isn't right!
@nfonjimaze
@nfonjimaze 4 жыл бұрын
*you can mix without the crossfader depending on you dj deck setting just right above the crossfader there switch for each deck that lets you decide if you want sounds of deck A or B or in the middle for both*
@LatinoGamer96
@LatinoGamer96 4 жыл бұрын
Usually in techno/house music you dont use that much the crossfader ; therefore you keep the crossfader setup on "thru" wich basically means you deactivate the crossfader and the volume is controlled by the volume fader of each deck

@@LatinoGamer96 you learn something new every day. I mix with the channel faders and EQ's myself but leave the crossfader in the middle, will see if i can swith it off on my X1800

@@wez130 if i recall you can ! under each channel fader there is the switch; is a flat switch that has A, B and a dot. if you want to deactivate the crossfader all the switches must be on the dot !

The other replies are correct - I'm just mixing with level faders and EQ. Crossfader not needed. See also my video on what the crossfader is and whether you need to use it.
