I think the ANC is just an additional feature to add for marketing purposes. It's pretty much pointless for this type of earbud but they believe it will sell better with the more things they're able to list. Semi in ear don't work for my ears, though. Sounds like the app could use some work. The ones I have from Soundpeats use the old app so I haven't experienced the new one but, yeah, the old one isn't that good either.
