I played this for my grandmother during hospice care. She wanted to go to the ocean one last time before she passed. She was already sleeping hard from the morphine but I know she was able to hear this. I hope this brought her comfort and reminded her of her youth. Dude.. That's great. I I have not heard this noise since I left my parents' house. My room was in the roof, and every time it rained I was in heaven. Today at home, when it rains I put a large fishing umbrella in my garden, I put a chair below it and I stay there until the rain stops, or until my wife calls me to go take care of our child lol Thank you again for this video that reminds me of all my rainy years at my parent's house. Very nice! Reminds me of my grandparents' house in Ridgefield, Connecticut. We'd often visit in March when the rains rapidly melted the snow away. We children would sleep up in the attic bedroom, nestled in sleeping bags and on big pillows atop the thick pile red carpet. Grandma always cracked the roof window open "for better health." Even if it was cold and nasty outside, the attic was always plenty warm enough from the coal furnace in the basement.

I’m avid rain lover. I wish I lived in London, they say more than 160 days a year, it rains there. It’s like a magic-we just have to let ourselves and feel it. I always listen to these kind of videos when I’m studying. Nothing makes me concentrate better. 🌧 ☔️❤️

I had one in my kitchen above the dining table. It, unfortunately, didn't open, but when it would rain, I'd find myself sitting there listening & falling asleep sitting up. Skylights ROCK! I thought about putting one above each bed in my house. I g grew up on a farm & my room was upstairs so the rain hitting our roof was so comforting that it'd put me right to sleep. It was an OLDER house so when the wind blew it'd moan through the edges. Ahh, I miss the farm!

My husband thought I was so weird now he loves it.. and since he loves fans and fan sounds he put that on along with my rain sounds and two fans in the room.. And oh my goodness it’s wonderful we sleep like a baby the rain get me so excited I just love every moment of it I want it to rain everyday so I can go under the covers and giggle and get all excited while my husband smiles cause he low key loves it too 😂

I have a window like this in my attic but unfortunately for reasons unknown. I can only hear the rain all day long if it rains all day long. On days it doesnt rain all day long, somehow i dont hear it. I watched a documentary a few months back about the great comedian WC Fields. It was said that in his last days on his deathbed the woman in his life used to spray water on the roof to simulate the sound of rain, which he found greatly comforting. He had had a difficult childhood. I too have painful memories and I find the sound of rain and wind very soothing , especially at night. In fact I wish I lived in a tin-roofed house!
