The no tension tuning put such a massive smile on my face.I did not expect such low tuning to sound so incredible :)

I bought the maple version about a month ago. Most of the time I'm using it tuned pretty darn low with a muffle ring and a clip on muffle too. It's ridiculously fat. I love it. A beautifully made product.

Clearly a better mousetrap...and WAY more fun! I can definitely see for studio types or frequently gigging various styles this would be such a time and energy saver. Not to mention its mechanically a thing of beauty! Nice demo as always. 👍👍

Hoping this sort of tuning system catches on a bit more in the mainstream. Even if it doesn't, I still really want a bell brass one of these. Great video as always!

That would be a super cool learning tool. I think I like the ability of normal snares to change individual lugs if needed, but this would be really cool on Tom’s or kick drums, because no one ever really tunes those different by each lug

Oh man you can literally see in your face how fun this drum is to play. You can’t fake that sort of reaction. I was skeptical of these things as they just seemed too good to be true, but this has convinced me that they seem to be the real deal.

Freaking cool. Loved the S. Copeland highs, but that low tuning is fantastic. I own a few snares and nothing goes that low. I agree this is a great way for drummers to learn the different intervals in tuning a drum. Love this drum thanks for the great spot light

I'm really thinking of investing in this drum someday (once I can save up for one that is) but I have to ask, if one day, one of the lugs de-tunes itself, or if I'm just looking for a trashier drum sound, is there a way to individually change the lug's tensions? I see there seems to be dimples on the round bits, are those to be used with a proprietary tuning key sort of deal? edit: looking at the mechanism I now doubt there is a way to tune individual lugs, however maybe just releasing all the tension and re-tensioning it would even out the lugs I think. But it would be nice if they added perhaps an additional tension rod system ontop of all that, to have access for individual lug control
@ljdunsmore13 жыл бұрын
Definitely doesnt tune like a regular drum and I wouldnt think you would be able to do what you're saying with retuning a particular lug of the drum. But man! what a system!

How would you describe the difference between this brass version and the maple version? Also, which one would be better for certain applications?
@SoundsLikeADrum3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Honestly I’d recommend watching the corresponding videos back to back to compare - they really just exhibit the characteristics of brass and maple that you’d expect from drums of those materials. Brass is louder, more higher harmonics and maple is a bit warmer and rounded in tone. Love them both! -Cody

Weird question, is your top hihat cymbal smaller than the bottom one, or is it just offset from being on an angle? It's probably the latter but I've seen it in a few vids and I genuinely can't tell, lol

Wow what A beauty new drums are new drums Neil Peart said old drums are good but new ones are better think of a bad hoop on ludwig that cost almost a cheap car in canada you got youre brand new snare from the 70 brass era and almost every hoops are warp that’s why i buy new you pay for what you get instead of paying 2 or 3 times parts for vintage snare my opinion thanks Cody and team awesome work👏👏🤟🏻🤟🏻🇨🇦🥁🥁

Keeping it real..coming from a dude rocking a Fisher Price chrome over who knows Tama entry snare. Yeah that metal snap in my shed is actually brutal. I much prefer wood. But I've thought about maybe trying a Evans dry batter to cut some of that high end pop/ring..??????.
@LeakyJAZZ3 жыл бұрын
You can leave the reso a bit higher, but lower the batter a bit, and dampen it a bit, like a tone ring and or a wallet (I have both taped to my snare)

I like, I want, OUCH! My wallet says no. Maybe when I make more money I’ll buy it. The price with what you get I think is reasonable compared to other basic “high end” snares that are still basically a basic snare. I definitely would be using this snare a lot.

You guys never demo rimshots! Great drummers use plenty of them constantly
@SoundsLikeADrum2 жыл бұрын
We demo rimshots in every single snare video… The last hit of dynamic demos is always a rimshot as is the last of the full-volume demos. Additionally, we include rimshots in quite a few of the contextual groove demos.
@drummersinger53242 жыл бұрын
@@SoundsLikeADrum Ok well I apologize for the ignorance . But I get bored with a snare drum only on head. So I'll skip to the end of your demos from now on. I'm thinking of buying a dialtune drum soon.
