This sounds like top gun. I don’t know if this is true but if the enemy aircraft is an F-5 Tiger ll, Jester calls it out as a Mig28. That’s a cool little top gun reference.

Yes, there is a skin titled "black mig 28" the producers of Top Gun used F-5E Tigers because they couldn't get a hold of Russian aircraft (for obvious reasons) Edit:So they added a little Top Gun reference (as you said)

the f5 was in top gun, it was the "mig 28" which doesn't actually exist.

Yeah sure, thats the reason why this is so top gun like, but it was just an enemy plane that appeared only in the beginning and in the end of the movie. The F-14 however, is besides Tom Cruise the star of the movie and it´s this plane that is mostly connected with the soundtrack and its vibe. ;)
