On a breezy, overcast day in South-East London, a group of us gathered at Hall Place for a soundwalk (hosted by myself and Centrepieces, a mental health charity). Surrounded by the history of Hall Place, the gardens, and lively activity of nature, we captured the sounds of wind, crunching leaves, gravel, and flowing water. Each participant documented their experience uniquely, using video, photos, and audio. I later edited these elements into a cohesive soundscape blending everyone's work into one sound art piece. The piece begins with wind and ends with water, reflecting a discussion we had about their similar rhythms. Ambient piano chords were added to weave the natural sounds together, creating a serene auditory journey. This project showcases the power of collaboration and the relaxation potential in ordinary sounds.
