@1 2 it night have something ro do with dnb being so prominent in the 90s it spilled into many forms of media including video games. Although I actually dont get that feeling from this track. Its too refined imo.

You'd be surprised as to how many '90s car racing games (especially those that originated from Japan) featured this type of music in the menu or car selection screen. It almost provokes a sense of "getting prepared" for the race/drive ahead, I suppose.
