Hey there! Actually this is not a Baul song. Most of Lalan Shah's songs are spiritual or devotional. If you listen to these songs sung by maestros, then you'll see most of them sing such songs as a Prayer or way to communicating with an entity highly above them. It's the new generation of singers who have ended up turning Lalan's song into mere folk songs. Shubha Mudgal Ji is definitely one of those who deeply study their music before performing it. I'm always a big Subha Mudgal fan.. She is the most underrated singer of Indian music industry.. But Lalon geeti in Subha ma'am's classical voice hits hard..
